    OBJECTIVE

  • 8/8/2019 EM- SUBMSN 1

    9/24

    Problem

Many milk producers produced milk in large quantity but takers were not enough to

consume the milk produced as their source of distribution was limited. Many times the

milk produced got wasted which was a great loss for them.

    Objective

The objective was to save the milk producers from this loss, so COMPFED opened itscollection centres where producers sold their milk and immediately on doing that they

got their money. The organization not only distributed milk but also made various

    other milk products.Its objective

y Is to remove the hindrance of distribution in the growth of the milk producers.y Was to prevent the wastage of milk.

    Milk Marketing

In the initial years, the emphasis of Compfed was on organising DCS and educatingfarmers. In the initial years the milk sale moved at snail's speed from Later, marketing

was given a boost by considering it a thrust area.About five to 100.55 thousand litresper day in 1987 to 106.54 thousand litres p er day (TLPD) in 1992-93. However,

stratgegies adopted in 1993-94, changed the trend completely. Year 2003 wasdeclared as "Market Development Year". The daily average milk marketing has now

reaced a level of about 701 TLPD showing a continued increase which is depictedbelow.
