group participants acting as ISO TC204 / ABNT

CEE127 locally (Nationwide Brazil)

2) Program Implementation factors – TaskForce

of ISO TC204 in Brazil Regional – Federal

Standard

3) Historic: Created on 2010, shutdown for 2

years reactivated on 2013. ABNT CB127 ITS

GOALS:

ABOUT INTERNACIONAL NORMS

- Act on norms development and information standartization,

communication and system control for vehicles & transportation on

ITS Field.

- The International ISO TC204 will be considered as base standart

unless there is no local regionalisms identified (i.e. SINIAV).

- Realize the study and research for cientific development about

the theme, If possible as an international member (Currently

recover the Observer status – lost in 2010).

ARCHITETURE

The WK 1 works

with related norms

associated to

information,

methods e proccess

to be shared on ITS

setor overall, as

common usage,

concepts and unified

methods and

proccess described

on ISO/NBR

documents.

WG3: ITS

DATABASE TECNOLOGY

The geograph importance is related for the growing of automotive navigation system and

services, so trough this the need to give instructions and information. Several ITS services

uses geographic information, becaming a critical information, for automotive navigation

service systems. So WK3 was as a base study standart interfaces for information exchange

taking several situation in consideration.

WK4: VEHICLE AUTOMATIC

IDENTIFICATION (SINIAV)*

WG 4 has the responsability the standartization of itens related to systems

interoperability. This is a consequence of vehicle automated identification trought

tecnologies and equipments, This a reginal issue in Brazil due our standart SINIAV –

Sistema Nacional de Identificação de Veiculos – Similar to South Africa.

WK4:

VEHICLE AUTOMATIC

IDENTIFICATION

WK5:

ELECTRONIC FEE COLLECTION

O GT 5, nomeado por Electronic Fee Collection (EFC), atua na

padronização da tarifação eletrônica.

Inclui as tecnologias utilizadas para cobrir todo o domínio de

tarifação, instalação dos equipamentos nas estradas, cobranças de

estacionamento, balsas e similares.

WK5:

ELECTRONIC TOLL COLECTION

The emphasis of this WG is on Electronic Toll Collection (ETC). The

communication between vehicles and road equipments is implemented

trough DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) or GNSS / CN

(Global Navigation Satellite Systems / Cellular Network) using

Celular Network or GNSS.

WG7:

LOGISTICS AND FLEET MANAGEMENT

WG7 acts on standartization of data and messages for the

electronic identification of goods transportation monitoring, to

facilitate the freight transportation and intermodal

interchange/exchange.

Covers the knowlodge regarding freight/load/goods, contents

identification, communication architeture application profile

and electronic safety profile. Locally and entity called Gristec

is the champion for this Sub Group coordination.

WG7: FLEET AND

LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT

UITP 21

The goal is to create a standart /norm independent from the modal transport or

propritary system, trought the standartization of information exchanged between

the loader and logistics operators for the national and international transport

integration. A specific regional regulation already exists.

WK8: EMERGENCY

AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

WG8 will work on standartization of information related to the

public transportation, and for emergency. The public

transportation include buses, taxis and trains, so, passenger

transport ways.

The public transportation is an important standartization factor

due the car dependency factor. Individual transportation for the

passenger transportation on big cities, metropolitan areas, can

result in a growing damage on level of health and poor life

quality for the individuals and society. ANTP is supporting this

group and the coordinator is defined: Mr. Candido from Empresa

1.

UITP 22

WK8: EMERGENCY

AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

UITP 23

For Emergency, the scope of standartization include data and fixed messages on

the communication network. Specifically traffic lights are controlled (by

expanding of green signal or red lights usage) based on emergency vehicle

position information, attending velocity, destination and direction alowing

emergnecy vehicles free and fast flow on crossings.

At same time, other vehicles and pedestrians are informed to avoid colisions and

acidents.

UITP 24

WK8: EMERGENCY

AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

The subject to be treated on WG9 is the standartization for

traffic management (Information and Control).

Specifically with standartization of information and

communication systems, in a way to efficiently data

exchange between the traffic management centers, the

road operation and control centers, and between road

equipments, to allow and supply management

information outside the organizations (private or

information).

UITP 25

WG9: TRANSPORT INTEGRATED

INFORMATION, CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT.

WG9

UITP 26

WG10: TRAVEL

INFORMATION SYSTEMS

UITP 27

WG10 works with IT

systems for the travellers.

It’s a nucleos part of ITS.

Will standartize the

database for data and

fixed messengers to

provide information for

the drivers and users,

trought communications

channels, as radio

brodcasting, mobile

technology and digital

radio systems.

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION FACTORS

- The factors that affect the implementation of working

programs of ISO TC 204 (local CEE127/CB127) must be

reported to this comission/Commitee to be analysed.

- Task Forces for each other WG Programs must be

submited to this camissiona analisis.

- Suggestions can be addressed to ITS Special Study

Commission secretary.

CONCLUSION & NEXT STEPS

The special study commitee is Open to anybody from

society to participate and contribute on working

Groups and Norm translation / application;

If some Norms do not cover our local scope in Brasil

(i.e.SINIAV) the Special study Commitee already add

their value ... Giving a final evaluation and

applicability report...
