ANTIÁCIDOS E ANTI-ULCEROSOSANTIACIDS AND ANTIULCERANTS

ANTIASMÁTICOS E BRONCODILATADORESANTIASTHMATICS AND BROCHODILATORS
Asthma is currently considered as a chronic infammatory disease of the airways, associated with bronchial hyperresponsiveness and bronchospasm. Bronchial hyperreactivity is related to the infammation of the bronchi, mast cell degranulation, changes in bronchial epithelium, intration of infammatory cells, eosinophils, macrophages and lymphocytes. Bronchoconstriction may manifest as chest tightness, dyspnea, and cough.
ANTI-HISTAMÍNICOS DE USO SISTÉMICOANTIHISTAMINES FOR SYSTEMIC USE
Antihistamines oppose many actions of histamine in the body, reducing the eects mediated by H1 receptors, which are at the origin of allergic reactions. These drugs are often known as anti-allergic medicinal products. They have no curative eect and represent a palliative therapy with a predominantly systemic eect.

ANTI-HISTAMÍNICOS DE USO SISTÉMICOANTIHISTAMINES FOR SYSTEMIC USE
Promethazine is indicated in disorders known to respond to antihistamine therapy. It is used in the palliative therapy of allergic reactions, as an anti-emetic for motion sickness, as a sedative and as an antitussive. Larger doses have been given for the control of Parkinsonian symptoms, e.g. oculogyric crises.

The cardiovascular action of adrenergic agents is quite heterogeneous because it aects two types of pharmacolo-gical receptors. Alpha-1 receptors induce peripheral vasoconstriction (in the vessels of the skin, bowel, kidney, etc.) and therefore stimulation causes elevation of pressure. Beta-1 receptors are located in the heart and induce increased myocardial contraction and heart rate contraction.
Heart rhythm disturbances are common. In spite of most cases being harmless phenomena, there are situations that may cause discomfort, increase morbidity and are one of the main causes of sudden death, especially when they arise in the form of tachycardia and ventricular brillation. Arrhythmias may be due to changes in frequency, rhythmicity, genesis and impulse conduction.
