ECONOMICTALKINGPOINTS Economy grows faster and
faster with each revision
• The Bureau of Economic Analysis issued their third and final estimate of 3Q GDP at an annualized rate of 3.5%, up from prior estimate of 3.2%.
• Growth in nonresidential fixed investment (which includes commercial real estate), personal consumption expenditures, and state and local gov’t spending were are understated in prior estimates.

ECONOMICTALKINGPOINTS
Apartment rents show strong growth for 2016, but now on slight downward trend
• According to the Yardi Matrix report, average apartment rents grew 4% in 2016, however they have been down very slightly over the last four months; in December they fell $4 to an average level of $1,210.
• With national rates effectively sustaining, or growing ex-luxury sector, these latest stats actually reveal a lot of health in the multifamily sector at the start of 2017.
