Aveiro Port is located in an inland lagoon called Ria de Aveiro (Aveiro Estuary).
The Estuary came about due to the retreating sea, leading to the appearance of coastal strips and the subsequent formation of a lagoon that is one of the most important and beautiful hydrographical accidents that occurred on the Portuguese coast.
The main navigation canal is 9 km long, running from the entrance of the Harbour (40º 39’N, 8º 45’W) to close by the city of Aveiro.

CODE OF SOUND SIGNALS FOR TUG, MOORING AND UNMOORING SERVICES FOR SHIPS
•The manoeuvring signals themselves are always referred to the bow of the ship and intuitively the bow of the tugboats.
•When carrying out a manoeuvre it may be necessary to make a signal only to the auxiliary tugboat – i.e. the one that is not tugging – in this case the signal will be preceded by a long and short whistle ( --.) and, with a suitable interval, the desired signal will then be issued. When this signal is given, the other tugboat will act so as not to counteract the desired course of action.
•The tugboats, upon recognising the signals, will repeat them.

FORÇA DO VENTO VELOCIDADE DO VENTO
VENTO E MAR
60 |
Em Terra
Folhas imóveis. O fumo sobe verticalmente.
Encrespado. Há pequenas cristas de espuma transparente.
Pequenas vagas cujas cristas começam a rebentar. Algumas cristas brancas.

NOTAS

REMARKS
ALERT TO THE USERS:•The forecast of appropriate tides
is told to a time zone that will not be able to coincide with the corresponding time zone to the legal hour. So, between 1 hour of legal time (1 hour TU) of the 29th of March and the 2 hours of legal time (1 hour TU) of the 25th of October (summer hour), the users must add 60 minutes up to the values appropriate time-tables.
•There is at present a systematic difference of nearly +10 centimeters between the observed heights of water and the heights of predicted tides, because of the flat Hydrographic Zero (Z.H). to have been fixed regarding middle levels adopted several decades ago as well as due to the variation of the middle level of the sea.
To consult more informations www.hidrografico.pt.
Due to the variation of the average sea level are expected, higher water heights, in around 0,1 m, to the values indicated in the chart.
