We use the application o gold, silver and copper leas, a technique that has remained virtually un-

changed or hundreds o years and we still do it by hand. Te application o these leas is by ar one o

the ancient techniques in wood decoration. Tere is a great tradition with several cra pieces o excel-

lent crasmanship. Te use o these leas can be traced back as ar as the ancient Egyptian times. Five

thousand years ago, Egyptian artisans recognized the extraordinary durability and malleability o

gold and silver and became the frst goldbeaters and gilders.

Tey pounded gold using a round stone to create the thinnest lea possible. Except or the introduc-tion o a cast iron hammer and a ew other innovations, the tools and techniques have remained vir-

tually unchanged or thousands o years. By using this technique we recover these stories o passion

that evoke unique moments o rare opulence. It has been a part o ancient art. Possession o urniture

Hand-painted-tiles have gained a privileged place in architecture and throughout the centuries,

Portugal has adopted them like no other country has. Tey constitute a major aspect o Portuguese

architecture and are one o our most important decorative elements. In order to honor the Portu-

guese hand painted tiles, Boca do Lobo created Heritage Sideboard.
