Algo en is a collaborative experience that combines
networking activities, gastronomy, and urban tourism.
Algo en was born in 2012 to
promote collaboration and engagementamong people from different disciplinesand sectors through an everydayexperience such as good food and drinkin an environment that encouragesentrepreneurship and local markets inMexico.
Our experience starts withengagement and collaboration activitiesthat is extended to a tour in one of themost famous local markets in MexicoCity, Mercado de San Juan, guided byour chefs, so they can share theirknowledge and some stories. This wouldbe followed by cooking and cocktaillessons in a very special place in ourcity. Afterwards, we can share the tablewith food and drinks we have allprepared together.

Chef Maite Serrano Mexican Chef, her early years were closeto cocoa and sugar as her family wassurrounded with chocolate. Doingcookies beside his father was a lovelyholiday.
His passion for food led her to study theprogram of Culinary Art and Baking atCulinary Institute of America through itsalliance with the Universidad Anáhuacdel Sur.
Throughout his career she has beeninvolved in the design and developmentof different projects, almost all relatedto food. She taught Food and Beveragesin Universidad Anahuac del Sur, underthe Tourism program.
She created the company "Cuzinha"catering, banquet serving for severalyears.
For 10 years, she was GeneralCoordinator of Corporation Prego, foodindustry, dedicated to the manufactureof institutional products.
Today, Maite is partner of Algo en.
Bartender Jesús Cabrera
The best mixologist from Latin Americaand the Caribbean, originally from the Cityof Merida, Yucatan, would be part of ourexperience.
With extensive experience as a bartenderand bar manager, acquired during the last13 years in restaurants all over Mexico,Jesús has dedicated to provide advice tobars and restaurants, as well as being alecturer at universities, conferences andactively participated in national andinternational competitions, obtaininggreat achievements both personally andas a representative of Mexico.
He was recognized as a finalist in theMaster Class Havana, Campari The FinestMixer, the Pan American InternationalBartenders Association Final competitions;Global World Class Finals in New Delhi,India; and World Class Raising The Bar, inwhich he was champion by unanimousdecision in 2011.Using elements of traditional Mexican
cuisine, reflects both their life experiencesand their deep love for the ingredientsand flavours of his land. He wants topresent a totally different and innovativeway to do the mixtures.
Since 2015, he serves as president of theMexican Academy of Mixology.
