6th Sunday of Easter—Memorial Day Weekend Dear Sisters and Brothers, What a great time we had last Sunday seeing all those beautiful children receive their First Communion. That experience is going to change and transform their lives, if only we adults would help those beautiful kids to continue to receive Holy Communion every Sunday. As I mentioned to the children and all the parents: today is the First Communion and the Next Communion is next Sunday and every Sunday. This perception of infinite love of Jesus is so essential to our children, and it will save their lives and souls, it will become their strength and defense in life, it will be their inspiration to love and to serve. Would you want that for your child??? Would you want them to be at the source of life and of love, confident that Jesus is always with them??? This is your time to do it, by coming together to receive Jesus in Holy Communion, who will fill your heart with happiness and love, He will bring you healing and peace. Don’t we say or think of how nice it was to have this innocence of young age and the experience of love and happiness that the experience of faith was giving us??? This innocence and happiness doesn’t have to go away. Jesus is in love with everyone one of us, and his love never changes. As the Apostle tells us: Jesus Christ is this same: yesterday, today, and forever. What changes - is us, who loses the faith - is us, who walks away from Jesus - is us, but it doesn’t have to happen. We can instead grow in faith, we can grow in knowledge of God, we can grow in our humanity as good persons, capable of loving and serving. How can we accomplish that ???, only by walking with Jesus, maturing in friendship with Him, becoming more like him, as we sang in the song: to become what we eat - that is to become like Jesus, whose Body and Blood we consume. This is what our faith does to us: makes us more like Christ if only we give Jesus a chance to transform us, but this transformation can’t happen without our collaboration. First we have to aspire to be, to love like Jesus; than we have to allow Him to be our friend, our guide. We need to BEFRIEND Him, we need to LIKE Him, we need to FOLLOW Him not as the social media does on internet, but in the depths of our hearts and minds and souls, where Jesus needs our ACCEPTANCE as our FRIEND. That is the beginning of a great adventure in life, if we open our hearts, our minds, our souls, our lives to Jesus, and it begins at First Communion when the first hints of communicated and educated faith are given to us seeking our response. That response has to be nourished and renewed often, and it will bring us to: become what we eat - Christ. All that is true not only for our children, but it is true for all of us who believe. The choice is ours for ourselves, and the choice is ours for the children and youth. What we decide affects everyone and everything around us, and this is the truth we want to accept or not, but it will show itself to be true in the course of our lives. In the Gospel of today Jesus makes us the most beautiful promise: “WHOEVER LOVES ME WILL KEEP MY WORD, AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR DWELLING WITH HIM.” Jn 14;23 Congratulations to all the children on receiving Jesus in Communion, may this adventure of faith ever bring you closer to the heart of God. Happy Memorial Day to all!!! Have a great time with your family and friends! Let us never forget this day and al-ways, those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our freedom. Join us for Mass on Monday, at 9:00 a.m. 12:00 noon and 5:30 p.m. and pray as one community, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all. God bless everyone always !!! Queridas Hermanas y Hermanos,

Que bien nos la pasamos el Domingo pasado al ver a todos esos hermosos

niños recibir su Primera Comunión. Esa experiencia va a cambiar y transformar

sus vidas, si solo nosotros, los adultos, ayudáramos a esos hermosos niños a

continuar recibiendo la Sagrada Comunión cada Domingo. Como les mencione a

los niños y a todos los padres: hoy es la Primera Comunión y la próxima Comu-

nión es el próximo Domingo y cada Domingo.

Esta percepción del amor infinito de Jesús es tan esencial para nuestros

hijos, y salvara sus vidas y almas, se convertirá en su fuerza y defensa en la vida,

será su inspiración para amar y servir. ¿Quieres eso para tu hijo? ¿Te gustaría

que estuvieran en la fuente de la vida y el amor, ¿Confía en que Jesús esta siempre con ellos? Este es tu

momento para hacerlo, al reunirte para recibir a Jesús en la Sagrada Comunión, quien te llenara el corazón

de felicidad y amor, El te traerá sanidad y paz.

¿No decimos o pensamos en lo agradable que era tener esta inocencia de la juventud y la experien-

cia de amor y felicidad que nos brindo la experiencia de la fe? Esta inocencia y felicidad no tiene que

desaparecer. Jesús esta enamorado de cada uno de nosotros, y su amor nunca cambia. Como el apóstol

no dice: Jesucristo es el mismo: ayer, hoy y siempre. Lo que cambia, somos nosotros, quienes perdemos la

fe, somos nosotros, quienes sos alejamos de Jesús, somo nosotros, pero no tiene que suceder.

En cambio, podemos crecer en la fe, podemos crecer en el conocimiento de Dios, podemos crecer en nues-

tra humanidad como buenas personas, capaces de amar y servir.

¿Cómo podemos lograr eso?, Solo caminando con Jesús, madurando en amistad con El, volviéndo-

nos en lo que comemos, eso es llegar a ser como Jesús, cuyo Cuerpo y Sangre nosotros consumimos Esto

es lo que nuestra fe nos hace: nos hace mas como Cristo si solo le damos a Jesús un cambio para transfor-

marnos, pero esta transformación no puede ocurrir sin nuestra colaboración.

nes, mentes y almas, donde Jesús necesita nuestra ACEPTACION como nuestro AMIGO. Ese es el

comienzo de una gran aventura en la vida, si abrimos nuestros corazones, nuestras mentes, nuestras vidas,

nuestras vidas hacia Jesús, y comienza en la Primera Comunión, cuando nos dan los primeros indicios de

fe comunicada y educada en busca de nuestra respuesta. Esa respuesta debe alimentarse y renovarse a

menudo, y nos llevara a: convertirnos en lo que comemos: Cristo. Todo eso es verdad no solo para nuestros

Hijos, sino que es verdad para todos los que creemos. La elección es nuestra para nosotros y la elección es

para los niños y jóvenes. Lo que decidimos afecta a todos y todo lo que nos rodea, y esta es la verdad que

queremos aceptar o no, pero se mostrara como verdadera en el curso de nuestras vidas.

En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos hace la promesa mas hermosa: “ QUIEN ME AMA ME GUARDARA MI

PALABRA, Y MI PADRE LO AMARA, Y LLEGAREMOS A EL Y HAREMOS NUESTROS VIVIR CON EL”.

Felicitaciones a todos los niños en recibir a Jesús en Comunión, que esta aventura de fe los acerque al

corazón de Dios.

night. Fr. Stan welcomed everyone and Fr Charlince celebrated a beautiful liturgy.

We are especially grateful to the St. Anne’s adults who trained our teens: Hector Lopez: Ushers and Greeters,

Joe Kirvin– Lectors, Mimi Reimer– Altar Servers, Stefan Garamy– Music and Singers.

The youth mass is the third Sunday of the month, except for June when it will be the fourth Sunday

because of Fathers Day on the third. We gather in the church hall for a meal and a

movie afterwards. All teens of the parish are welcome to participate.

MEMORIAL FOR UNBORN BABIES

In partnership with St. James Church, Setauket, and St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center will hold the Third Annual Memorial and Burial Service for babies who

have died before birth. The prayer service will be held in St. James Church at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15,

2019, followed by the burial in St. James Parish Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: The service is open to

anyone in the community who has suffered the loss of a baby. There is no restriction on the timeframe of the loss. For further information about the memorial and

“LIVING BREAD” An Exploration of the Eucharistic Miracles

On Friday, June 21, in

anticipation of the celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi

on Sunday, June 23rd, our parish Youth Ministry

Director, Tony Bellizzi, will be offering “Living Bread” a

fascinating presentation covering the many Eucharistic Miracles. Throughout history

there have been over 100 documented miracles where

Bread and Wine have manifested as flesh and blood. While the Eucharist, the ultimate miracle, needs no miracles to prove itself, Our Lord has blessed us with these miracles

to bolster our faith. Please join us for this inspiring and dynamic presentation on a subject that many have never

heard about, come to our Church Hall, lower level at 7:30 p.m.

VI DOMINGO DE PASCUA

Hch 15, 1-2.22-29 El tema del Ministerio (sacerdotal) en las primeras comunidades cristianas. El domingo pasado, Hch nos decía que Pablo estableció presbíteros al frente de la comunidad, estos hombres eran propuestos por los hermanos y el Apóstol (Pablo) los ratificaba. El tema continúa hoy…se habla que Pablo y Bernabé fueron a Jerusalén para tratar el asunto con los apóstoles y los presbíteros. De los diáconos se habla en Hch 6:1-7…sin entran en mayores detalles, ahora entendemos que: aquellos primeros ministros, hoy: apóstol = obispo, presbítero = sacerdote (padre, cura, también presbítero) y diácono = d. en transición (que luego será sacerdote) o d. permanente (hombres casados que ejercen parte del ministerio que hacen los sacerdotes (bautizar, celebrar matrimonios, bendecir, etc.), el tema es más complejo, esta relación de ideas por si a alguno le sirve. Y de las mujeres, se dice algo?? Rm 16:1 se refiere a Febe (una mujer) con ciertas atribuciones diaconales. Hoy me detengo solo en la primera lectura. Se nos dijo el domingo (V de Pascua) que

las puertas de la fe se abrieron a los paganos, a éstos los judaizantes querían

exigirles igual que a aquellos cristianos venidos del judaísmo. Pablo, haciendo uso de

su autoridad, dictamina las exigencias que serán comunes a todos los cristianos (ya

las escucharemos o hemos escuchado en la misa). Y esto de las exigencias pasó y

pasa en la Iglesia, qué cosas has visto o has sentido que son exigencias infundadas

en la Iglesia?? Algunas pueden estar en relación a la comida, al vestido y hasta de la

manera en que recibimos la comunión en la misa. Obviamente, en lo anterior, es

necesario guardar el decoro y las buenas costumbres, pero no podemos pretender

que las cosas secundarias sean norma de fe. Respecto de la Eucaristía, consideras

qué se podría sustituir las obleas típicas por algún otro tipo de pan?? Buen domingo.

L’heure où Jésus passait de ce monde à son Père, il disait à ses disciples : `` Si quelqu’un m’aime, il restera fidèle à ma parole ; mon Père l’aimera, nous viendrons chez lui, nous irons demeurer auprès de lui. Celui qui ne m'aime pas ne restera pas fidèle à mes paroles. Or, la parole que vous entendez n'est pas de moi : elle est du Père, qui m'a envoyé. Je vous dis tout cela pendant que je demeure encore avec vous ; mais le Défenseur, l'Esprit Saint que le Père enverra en mon nom, lui, vous enseignera tout, et il vous fera souvenir de tout ce que je vous ai dit. C'est la paix que je vous laisse, c'est ma paix que je vous

donne ; ce n'est pas à la manière du monde que je vous la donne. Ne soyez donc pas bouleversés et effrayés. Vous avez entendu ce que je vous ai dit : Je m'en vais, et je reviens vers vous. Si vous m'aimiez, vous seriez dans la joie puisque je pars vers le Père, car le Père est plus grand que moi. Je vous ai dit toutes ces choses maintenant, avant qu'elles n'arrivent ; ainsi, lorsqu'elles arriveront, vous

croirez.
