WARNINGSThe Identification Signs described

herein must be installed and main-tained in compliance with this docu-

ment, as well as with the applicable standards of the National Fire Pro-tection Association, in addition to the

standards of any other authorities having jurisdiction. Failure to do so may impair the performance of thesedevices.

The owner is responsible for maintain- ing their fire protection system and de-vices in proper operating condition.The installing contractor or sprinkler

manufacturer should be contactedwith any questions.

Technical Data

Material & Finish 18 gauge aluminum with mylar facing.

InstallationThe Identification Signs are provid-ed with 1⁄8 Inch (3,2 mm) diameter orlarger holes (or slots) in the corners foreasy attachment using standard hard-ware chain, wire, plastic lock ties, orlight gauge metal strap (not included).

General Description

Identification Signs (Ref. Figure 1) aredesigned to provide information to theend user about the sprinkler systemand its components. They are avail-able with a variety of wording combi-nations to meet the signing require-ments of NFPA 13.

The five basic types of IdentificationSigns are as follows:

Type A- Control Valve Sign

Type B- Multi-Purpose Text Signs(See Below)

Type D- Fire Alarm Sign

Type E- Hydraulic Calculation Sign

Care and Maintenance

The following inspection proceduremust be performed as indicated, in ad-dition to any specific requirements ofthe NFPA, and any impairments mustbe immediately corrected.

The owner is responsible for the in-spection, testing, and maintenance oftheir fire protection system and devic-es in compliance with this document,as well as with the applicable stan-dards of the National Fire Protection

Association (e.g., NFPA 25), in additionto the standards of any authority hav-ing jurisdiction. The installing contrac-tor or product manufacturer should becontacted relative to any questions.

It is recommended that automatic sprin-kler systems be inspected, tested, and

maintained by a qualified InspectionService in accordance with local re-quirements and/or national codes.

After placing a fire protection systemin service, notify the proper authoritiesand advise those responsible for mon-itoring proprietary and/or central sta-tion alarms.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Annual visual inspections are recom-mended to ensure that IdentificationSigns are properly located.

LimitedWarranty Products manufactured by Tyco Fire& Building Products (TFBP) are war-ranted solely to the original Buyer for

ten (10) years against defects in mate-rial and workmanship when paid forand properly installed and maintainedunder normal use and service. Thiswarranty will expire ten (10) years fromdate of shipment by TFBP. No warran-ty is given for products or componentsmanufactured by companies not af-filiated by ownership with TFBP or forproducts and components which havebeen subject to misuse, improper in-stallation, corrosion, or which have notbeen installed, maintained, modified orrepaired in accordance with applicableStandards of the National Fire Protec-tion Association, and/or the standards

of any other Authorities Having Juris-diction. Materials found by TFBP to bedefective shall be either repaired or re-placed, at TFBP’s sole option. TFBPneither assumes, nor authorizes anyperson to assume for it, any other ob-ligation in connection with the sale ofproducts or parts of products. TFBPshall not be responsible for sprinklersystem design errors or inaccurate orincomplete information supplied byBuyer or Buyer’s representatives.

In no event shall TFBP be liable, incontract, tort, strict liability or underany other legal theory, for incidental,indirect, special or consequential dam-

ages, including but not limited to laborcharges, regardless of whether TFBPwas informed about the possibility ofsuch damages, and in no event shallTFBP’s liability exceed an amountequal to the sales price.

The foregoing warranty is made in lieuof any and all other warranties, ex-press or implied, including warrantiesof merchantability and fitness for aparticular purpose.

This limited warranty sets forth the ex-clusive remedy for claims based onfailure of or defect in products, materi-als or components, whether the claim

is made in contract, tort, strict liabilityor any other legal theory.

This warranty will apply to the full ex-tent permitted by law. The invalidity,in whole or part, of any portion of thiswarranty will not affect the remainder.

Orders must include the descriptionand Part Number (P/N). Contact yourlocal distributor for availability.

Hardware for hanging is not sup-plied with the Sign. It must be orderedseparately.
