It can reduce the constructional cost

The structure will become light in weight since we will have less number of steps.

New aesthetic design will try to bring new market in the product line.

It removes the shimming wave(described later) effect that elongates the chain during operation as in traditional design

The electric power required for to run the escalator will be less.

The preliminary research for manufacturing new design will

incur cost of launching new product

The new design can only be established when we want to use

two sets of escalator i.e., when we definitely want one set for

going up and one set for moving down.

It required more horizontal space for turning the step compared

to the conventional setup.
