MATERIALS:

FDA approved blow-molded high-density polyethylene with Microban® antimicrobial. Reinforced full-length steel-on-steel hinge mechanism, with 11-gauge steel mounting plates and mounting hardware included. Molded in graphics & safety messages in six languages and Braille. Contoured changing surface area is 420 sq. in (2710 sq. cm) and comes complete with nylon safety straps and two bag hooks.

OPERATION:

Concealed pneumatic cylinder and hinge structure provides controlled, slow opening and closing of bed. High-density polyethylene is easy to clean and resists odors and bacterial growth. Complies with ASTM static load performance requirements when properly installed. Molded-in liner dispenser holds approximately 25 KB150-99 sanitary liners.

Warning: To ensure that the unit supports the intended loads, baby changing stations must be properly installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

SPECIFICATION:

Baby changing station body shall be durable, high-density polyethylene with Microban® antimicrobial. Design of unit shall be surface-mounted. Unit shall be equipped with a pneumatic cylinder for controlled opening and closing of bed. Bed shall be secured to back plate with a concealed, full-length steel-on-steel hinge. No hinge structure shall be exposed on interior or exterior surfaces. Unit shall have 11-gauge steel mounting plates with mounting hardware included. Unit shall have Microban® antimicrobial embedded into plastic material. Unit shall conform to ASTM F 2285-04 Standard Safety Performance Specification for Diaper Changing Tables for Commercial Use, ANSI Z535.4 Product Safety Signs and Labels, ASTM G21 Antifungal, ASTM G22 Antibacterial standards or local code if more stringent installation requirements are applicable for barrier-free accessibility. Bed shall have smooth concave changing area with a nylon safety strap and two hooks for bags or purses. Unit shall have a built-in Liner Dispenser for use with 3-ply chemical free biodegradable sanitary liners, universal instruction graphics and safety messages in 6 languages and Braille. Unit shall be backed by manufacturer’s 5-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship and include a provision for replacement caused by vandalism. Unit shall be manufactured in the U.S.A.

INSTALLATION:To ensure proper installation and compliance to building codes, it is recommended that a qualified person or carpenter perform the installation of the unit. The unit must be properly installed onto a permanent wall that is capable of supporting significant weight, and can accommodate the supplied installation hardware.

Drilling holes and mounting the station:

1. Remove the station from the shipping container and check for any freight damage. Identify the best location for installing the baby changing station. Hold the unit in place, open the bed, and make sure that there is adequate operating clearance.

2. Based upon the type of wall on which the unit will be mounted, determine the best method of mounting. Not all of the included hardware may be required for proper installation.

3. The vertical unit has four mounting holes provided in the back wall of the unit, which are positioned on a 16” (406 mm) stud center. If possible, locate the wood or metal wall studs for fastening the changing station in the desired location. If the walls do not have studs on center as outlined, make sure at least one side of the unit is installed into the stud. Use toggles (may need to purchase) for holes on the other side. 4. Find the stud where you will be attaching the left side of the changing station to the wall. Measure 59” (1499 mm) up from the floor, at the center of the stud, and mark the wall. Line up the top left mounting hole with this mark, then use a measuring tape and level to mark the remaining three mounting holes. This will locate the bottom of the station 27” (686 mm) from the floor and the top of the bed at 34” (864 mm). 5. If the wall has wood studs on 16” (406 mm) centers, drill 1/8” (3 mm) pilot holes at the marks and use the four 1/4“ x 3” (6 mm x 76 mm) panhead tapping screws with supplied washers. If the wall is masonry or tile over wood studs, use a 7/32” (6 mm) masonry drill until you hit the stud, then proceed to drill 1/8” (3 mm) pilot holes into the studs and use the four 1/4” x 3” (6 mm x 76 mm) screws with supplied washers.

6. If the wall has wood studs that are not on 16” (406 mm) centers, has metal studs or an underlying surface of concrete block, drill with a ½” masonry bit. (You may have to purchase toggles before installing.) You must allow a minimum of inside wall space for toggles to turn depending on toggles used. Insert and tighten toggles.

OPERATION:

Designed to mount on the wall of a restroom stall or a dressing room. Closed unit folds to less than 6” (143 mm), and requires less than 2 sq. ft (600 sq. cm) of wall space. High-density polyethylene is easy to clean and resists fungal and bacterial growth. Can withstand static loads of 50 pounds (22.7 kilograms).

Unit shall be backed by manufacturer’s 5-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship and include a provision for replacement caused by vandalism. Unit shall be manufactured in the U.S.A.

The Child Protection Seat must be properly installed onto wall or partition of restroom or fitting room that is capable of supporting significant weight and can accommodate the supplied installation hardware (or other suitable hardware, not included, if unit is to be installed on another type of wall such as a cinderblock or permanent wall).

Drilling holes and mounting the station:

1. Remove the unit from the shipping container and check for any freight damage. Identify the best location for installing the Child Protection Seat. Hold the unit in place, open the seat, and make sure that there is adequate operating clearance. Use the seat as a template for locating the four mounting holes onto the mounting surface. Seat bottom should be 2” (51 mm) from bottom of wall/partition or 14” (356 mm) from the floor, whichever is higher. 2. The Child Protection Seat has four mounting holes provided in the back wall of the unit, which are positioned 8” (203 mm) apart horizontally and 17” (51 mm) apart vertically. Hardware included with unit is intended for installation of seat to a restroom or fitting room partition. If Installing onto another wall type separate hardware will be required (not included). 3. Drill through partition using 3/8” (10 mm) drill bit. 4. Insert the four threaded plugs with head holes (supplied) from the outside of the partition. 5. Mount the Child Protection Seat with the four 1/4” (6 mm) screws and washers (supplied). 6. Place the label/decal on the outside of stall or fitting room door.

oPeraCión:El cilindro neumático y la estructura metálica de montaje, proporcionan una apertura y cierre del equipo de manera lenta y controlada. El polipropileno de alta densidad es de fácil limpieza, resistente a los olores y evita la proliferación de bacterias. Cuando el cambiador de pañales se instala adecuadamente cumple con los requisitos de rendimiento de carga estática de la ASTM y EN.

Advertencia: Para asegurar que la unidad es capaz de soportar las cargas para la que fue diseñada, el cambiador de pañales debe ser instalado de acuerdo con las instrucciones suministradas por el fabricante.

instalaCión:Para asegurar una correcta instalación además del cumplimiento de los códigos de construcción, se recomienda que la instalación del equipo sea realizada por personal altamente calificado. La unidad debe estar correctamente instalada en una pared que sea capaz de soportar un peso significativo y que permita la instalación adecuada del equipo. Cuando se instala adecuadamente, el cambiador de pañales Koala Kare™ cumple con las normativas de la ADAAG en los EE.UU.

Perforación e instalación de la unidad:

1. Remueva el cambiador del envoltorio de envío y verifique que el equipo no haya sufrido ningún daño. Si existe algún daño contacte a servicio al cliente al +1.303.539.8300. Retire el kit de instalación y de operación de la caja. Por favor entregue el kit de operación al gerente del local o al operador. El envío incluye la estructura metálica de instalación y el dispensador de protectores sanitarios desechables. Identifique la mejor ubicación para la instalación del cambiador de pañales.

2. Retire la cama y la estructura de la caja y seleccione el área de la pared donde será instalada la unidad. Tome en cuenta que la unida necesita un espacio para operar adecuadamente de 241 mm (9-1/2") en los costados y 589 mm (23-3/16") desde la pared para la apertura del equipo. La altura en la cual debe ser instalada la unidad es de 1125 mm (44-1/4"). Los agujeros de montaje están diseñados para vigas de 16"(405 mm). Asegúrese que los lugares marcados para la instalación del equipo estén nivelados antes de perforar. Realice perforacio nes de guía para la instalación, usando una broca de taladro convencional de 3 mm (1/8").

Para Superficies de Mampostería o Baldosas sobre soportes de Madera, utilice una broca de mampostería de 6 mm (7/32") hasta alcanzar la viga.

Vigas Metálicas o Bloques de Concreto: Si la pared tiene vigas de madera que no sean de 406 mm (16"), vigas metálicas o una superficie subyacente de ladrillo de concreto, utilice un taladro con una broca de 13 mm (1/2") (Puede que sea necesaria la compra de pernos antes de la instalación.) Se debe permitir un espacio mínimo dentro de la pared para la instalación de los pernos dependiendo de los pernos usados.

3. Asegure dos de los tornillos de instalación en los orificios, dejando expuesto aproximadamente 6 mm (1/4") para permitir que los orificios puedan posarse sobre las cabezas de los tornillos. Coloque la estructura sobre los tornillos. Después de asegurar la unidad utilizando los orificios, verifique que la misma este nivelada. A continuación ajuste los dos tornillos superiores hasta quedar al ras con la pared. Use los cuatro agujeros inferiores como guía para marcar y perforar los agujeros. Utilice los cuatro tornillos y arandelas restantes para completar la instalación de la cama y el soporte de montaje. Inserte las arandelas en la parte inferior junto con los tornillos. Los SEIS tornillos y las 4 arandelas deben ser instalados en la estructura.

4. Asegúrese que el dispensador de protectores desechables no tenga daños. Retire la llave y abra la tapa del dispensador de protectores para poder ver los agujeros de montaje . Instale la unidad alineando los agujeros del dispensador con los de la estructura y asegurando con los cuatro tornillos suministrados. Cierre la puerta del dispensador y asegure con la llave suministrada.

5. Limpie el área de trabajo e inspeccione la unidad para asegurarse que abra y cierre adecuadamente. Entregue el "Kit de operador" y la llave al operador de la del lugar.
