1. THE

“THE” = EL, LA, LOS, LAS.

Example:

- The boy and the girl are studying for the tests.

2. A / AN

“A” = “AN” = UN, UNA.

Se diferencian en que si el nombre comienza por vocal se

escribe “AN”.

Example: a book

3. SOME

- Si es un nombre contable: SOME = ALGUNOS/AS

Example:

- There are some tomatoes = Hay algunos

tomates.

- Si es un nombre incontable: SOME = ALGO (a

veces no se traduce)

Example:

- There is some milk = Hay (algo de) leche.

Usamos SOME en oraciones afirmativas. Para traducirlo

nos fijamos en:

4. ANY

Se usa ANY en oraciones negativas e interrogativas.

Examples:

- There aren´t any apples = No hay manzanas.

- Are there any oranges? = ¿Hay algunas naranjas?

- There isn´t any water = No hay (nada de) agua.

- Is there any cheese? = ¿Hay (algo de) queso?

5. HOW MANY / HOW MUCH

HOW MANY = HOW MUCH = ¿CUÁNTO /A /OS/AS?

La diferencia es que HOW MANY es para nombres

contables y HOW MUCH nombres incontables:

Example: How many books = ¿Cuántos libros?

How much water? = ¿Cuánta agua?
