RedHealth - EASE - User Guide

The RedHealth Ease unit is a non-invasive electronic device specifically developed for personal use. It offers the capacity to reduce pain and aid with tissue damage repair.

The device utilizes ultra-low-level pulsed magnetic fields and LED light designed to resonate with the body’s natural acupuncture meridian system and provide support for the body’s natural self-regulating and adaption mechanisms.

This user guide explains the use and operation of the Ease unit.

About the Unit The Ease unit is activated by pressing the single button on the front panel and operates completely automatically.

Using the Unit The Ease unit runs for a preset time of 30 minutes after which it automatically switches off and all the lights go out. When running, the central red light pulsates in intensity and the three yellow lights that surround it flash and rotate in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction at different stages of the program.

The unit can be manually stopped at any stage while running by pressing the button: all the lights will go out indicating the unit is switched off.

Description of Ease Program The aim of the program is to soothe and ease nerve pain, reduce its intensity, aid with rejuvenating damaged tissue and help relax muscular and mental tension. Over the thirty-minute program the first ten minutes are designed to ease pain, the second ten minutes are for aiding rejuvenation. The final ten minutes help with uplifting emotions that may have become depressed because of long term pain.

Using the Unit In general, use the unit is placed over the area of discomfort with the lights facing the body. More specifically:

a) Where there is traumatic damage to the body or pain, the unit can be

placed over that area such as a painful muscle, cut, bruise, burn, ulcer etc., while the program is running. The unit can be placed directly on the area of discomfort (not open wounds) or held a few centimeters away from the area either still or moved slowly over the area. The magnetic fields work through clothing.

b) For more specific action the unit may be placed on an acupuncture

point as described in the ‘Suggested Use’ section of this guide. The unit needs only to be placed in the point’s general location to be effective.

Battery Charge Level When the button is pressed to activate the device the battery level is automatically indicated for a couple of seconds. Both the yellow battery light and some of the yellow indicator lights around the central light will show. The number of central yellow lights indicates the battery charge level:

3 lights = fully charged

2 lights = good level of charge

1 light = medium level of charge

0 lights = low charge

Yellow battery light flashing = discharged

Once the battery level is displayed the program starts.

NOTE: If the battery left in a discharged state then the unit will go into hibernation mode and the unit will not run. When the button is pressed, depending on the battery level of depletion, the battery light may flash a few times or not light at all. The Ease program will not start running. It is necessary to recharge the unit to make it active again.

Charging the Battery The built in rechargeable battery is charged by inserting a micro USB lead into the socket in the side of the unit and connecting the other end to a USB charger or USB port on a computer. When charging the yellow battery light on the front panel is illuminated and stays illuminated for as long as the charger is attached.

To check the battery level during charging it is best to disconnect the charging lead, wait a few moments and then press the button on the front panel. A fully charged battery (3 yellow lights) will give at least 10 hours of

active program use. It is recommended to charge the unit until it is fully charged.

The time required to charge the battery will depend on how discharged it is. If the battery level is at 1 yellow light then a full charge will take around 7 hours. If the battery is fully discharged (flashing battery light) then a soak charge of 20 hours is recommended.

If the unit is going to remain unused for several months then it is recommended to fully charge the unit and give it a recharge every six months to preserve the battery. If the battery is left fully discharged, it may start to deteriorate.

Action The Ease device has two primary effective actions:

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) – a well-proven and accepted technology using low frequency, short duration, low intensity magnetic pulses to stimulate body tissues. Multiple studies have been shown the benefits of well-targeted PEMF to be both positive and wide ranging including: accelerated tissue repair, pain relief, improved inflammation response, improved sleep, accelerated bone repair and much more.

Adaptive Resonance – an advanced approach that adds resonant signature patterns within the magnetic fields to provide targeted action and potency to the PEMF effect. Adaptive Resonance enables the therapeutic programs to resonate with specific aspects of the body’s adaption and regulation systems as well as acupuncture meridians. This allows for precise tailoring of programs to give their action.

How Often to Use the Unit? The unit can be used as and when needed – once or several times in succession if required.

For acute situations where there is sudden onset of pain, frequent use of the unit may be required until relief is found. For long-term chronic conditions, regular daily use – perhaps several dosages a day - is most effective and several weeks of use may be required. The general aim is to ease pain as part

of a pain management program and additional therapeutic help may be required for full relief. Precautions of use Under normal use the Painless unit is completely safe to use, however for legal reasons it is not recommend that people under 18 years of age, pregnant or fitted with a pace maker or deep brain implant use it without first consulting with a health care professional. Also, if you have a medical condition, please consult a health care professional. Holding the Unit The unit can be held over the area requiring attention by hand or tucked into clothing such as a sock, underwear or tight fitting clothes. Elasticated bands such as sweatbands can also be very useful for maintaining the unit in position.

Suggested Use This section offers suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of the unit by utilizing acupoints. In the following diagrams, acupoint locations are shown as red circles with the reference name beside them. For example, ‘ST-36’: where the first two letters are an abbreviation for the meridian (ST = Stomach) and the number identifies the specific point on the meridian.

All notes against acupoints are Traditional Chinese Medicine associations and not necessarily medically proven. No claims are made, only suggestions for using the unit for personal purposes. If you have a medical complaint always seek the advice of a professional.

Place the unit with the activity light over and facing the general location of the acupoint. Due to the broad-spectrum output of the device it only needs to be placed in the general location of an acupoint to be effective. From a practical and therapeutic perspective, most people find that one or two points work best for them and stick with those. Other people find they don’t need to use acupoints and benefit from just having the device on their person.

Suggestions for Using Ease Ease can be used in multiple situations where there is pain and trauma damage.

Arthritic pain

There are in the region of 200 types of arthritis broadly divided into inflammatory, non-inflammatory and connective tissue disease. Use directly over the affected joints either holding static or gently move over the area. Use every day. There are many supplementary approaches to aiding arthritis such as adopting an alkalizing diet and glucosamine supplements and a suitably qualified therapist can advise on these and other approaches.

Bites (insects)

Some insect bites can be serious and result in infection so seek appropriate medical advice.

Use directly over the bite to aid discomfort and swelling may also reduce.

Bruises – general

If bruising is severe or appears in the abdomen or head then seek medical attention.

If there is discomfort use directly over the area.

Burns

Burns may require medical attention so seek this if required.

For the initial pain use over the affected area but not touching it. It may require frequent use. May help stimulate the skin’s natural tissue rejuvenation.

As well as medical products for burns other options exist, including essential oil of Lavender and natural honey. Some Aloe Vera products may also assist with burn recovery. Seek professional advice on this.

Cramp – general After cramps have subsided the unit can be used over the muscular area to help relax the muscles.

For general prevention of cramps, ensure you are adequate hydrated. Also, electrolyte levels including potassium may need addressing along with calcium and magnesium balance. Seek advice from an appropriately qualified therapist.

Cuts Cuts should receive medical attention. The unit can reduce soreness and may help accelerate the tissue repair. Use directly over the area frequently but do not touch with the unit. Earache Earache should receive medical attention. Use the unit over the ear area generally.

Useful Acupoints: Front of ear (GB-2, TW-21, TW-17). Also, the back of neck at the base of the skull at the point where the hair line starts to ascend towards the ear (GB20).

Frozen shoulder Seek physiotherapy-type aid.

Use the unit to aid muscle relaxation. It may be useful to rest the device on top of the shoulder (TH-14, TH-15) and the front of the shoulder (LI-15). Tuck into clothing to keep in place. Also, if possible place the unit on the shoulder blade (scapular). Use on both shoulders, not just the affected one.

Other useful acupoints - top of the bicep muscle (LI-14), in the web between the thumb and first finger (LI-4). Also, two points on the little finger edge of the hand may prove beneficial (SI-2, SI-3).

Headaches – general Headaches can be caused by many factors. For regularly occurring headaches it is important to identify the root cause, so seek medical attention. Main triggers for headaches include: dehydration, medication, caffeine, stress, low blood sugar, poor posture, chemicals such as perfume, food allergies, hormonal imbalances, eye strain, alcohol, sinus issues, nervous tension, head injuries, fatigue. For general relief use over the area giving pain; it may prove beneficial to also use over the top of the shoulders and neck generally. There is often tension in these areas associated with headaches.

Acupuncture theory classifies headaches into several ‘patterns’, each with different treatments, and requires professional knowledge to understand these. However, there are some general acupoints that may prove beneficial.

A very good general aid is the back of the neck where the main neck muscle meets the skull (BL-10). There are various points on the skull that may be worth trying.

There are some remote points. Three finger widths above the inside ankle joint (SP-6). In the web of the hand between the thumb and first finger (LI-4). On the little finger edge of the hand (SI-3).

Indigestion Indigestion can have several causes including eating habits, food intolerances, emotional upsets. Seek medical advice if indigestion persists or is severe. For general relief use over the abdomen generally.
