RESUMEN / ABSTRACT

La sociedad occidental puede ser tildada como la sociedad de la comunicación. En

este contexto, no sólo los medios tradicionales como la televisión sino también in-

ternet y las redes sociales ejercen una importante influencia sobre las personas,

formando opiniones y creencias.

La teoría del cultivo explica que la concepción del mundo que nos rodea puede ser

producto de nuestras preferencias televisivas. Cabría preguntarse sobre la in-

fluencia social de CSI, la serie televisiva con mayores índices de audiencia.

The western society could be labelled as the communication society. In this context,

not only the traditional media but also the Internet and social networking are res-

ponsible of a great influence over our opinions and beliefs.

The Cultivation Theory explains that our perception of the surrounding world may

depend on our television viewing habits. We could ask about the social influence of

CSI, the television show with the highest audience figures.

RESUMEN / ABSTRACT

Quizás hablar de esclavitud parezca anacrónico, pero podríamos afirmar que la trata

de personas es la esclavitud del siglo XXI. Las víctimas de las mafias dedicadas a la

trata no son libres, están bajo el dominio de estas. El tipo de explotación puede es-

tar vinculado a actividades legales, aunque en situación de explotación laboral,

como ocurre en los trabajos de servicio doméstico, construcción, en explotaciones

agrícolas, etc. Otra modalidad de explotación son las actividades ilícitas forzadas,

donde la víctima es obligada a realizar actividades ilegales. Las mafias dedicadas a

la trata de personas tienen su actuación a nivel nacional, transnacional e interna-

cional. En España, esta actividad delictiva está presente y gestionada por mafias de

otros países.

The topic of slavery make seems to be an anachronistic one nowadays, but there is no

doubt that human trafficking is the slavery of the 21st century. The victims of

trafficking in mafias are not free; in fact they are completely devoid of liberty. The

kind of exploitation is often connected to legal activities, however in a context of

labor exploitation, as is the case with household services work, the building sec-

tor, farming work etc. Another type of exploitation is forced illegal activities,

where the victim is obliged to carry out illegal activities. Mafias dedicated to

human trafficking have a national, transnational and international scope of acti-

vity. In Spain, this criminal activities is present and conducted by mafias from

abroad.
