    dessert & coffee place in Rio that

    survived from the 16th AD.

    Even in this nice place, the waiterhad to secure our bags with

    plastic safety ban to avoid theft.

    A general conference done every three years held by and for

    museum community from all over the world. ICOM has a

    consultative status with UNESCO central office in Paris.

    Off site activities are one of the great thing about ICOM. Through groupsite visit, museum professionals discuss, compare and learn Brazillianmuseums current practice.

    The knowledge benefited from this then brought back to richen each

    owns local museums. Below are the sites visited in the occasion:

    Museu du Mare, located in Favela

    (slum) area of Mare. This communal-

    curating museum was built by the

    people of Mare as an expression of

    their social culture adaptation on

    their way of life.

    Centro Central Banco Brasilia

    (Museum of) Brazilian CentralBank, considered as one of theleast-boring museum in Rio.

    Open untill 9 pm, its exhibitgalleries showing contemporaryinstallations, religious collectionand permanent exhibit oncurrency. The place is a greatmodel of public space equippedwith caf, book store and a edu-kids corner.
