Use of fragrancesThebasecontainsaspecialfragrancecontainer(25).Wad­dingsoakedwithfragrancecanbeplacedinthiscontainer.Placefragrancesonlyinthecontainerprovided!Waterad­ditives(e.g.essentialoils,fragrances,waterconditioners)mustNOTbeusedinthetankoranywhereelseintheappli­ance!Evenasmallamountcandamagetheplasticorcausecracks.Thematerialisnotsuitablefortheuseofadditives.Onedropisenoughtodamagethewatertankandthereforerendertheunitunusable.Appliancesthataredamagedbyadditives are excluded from the warranty.The fragrancecontainerisalsousedasatoolforopeningtherotarylocksofthehumidifyingdiscs.Tolearnmoreaboutremovingthediscs,refertosection„Cleaningthehumidifyingdiscs“.

A.Do you leave your door open or closed when the unit is running?a. Byleavingthedooropen,thisallowsmoisturetoleave theroomandgointootherareasofthehouse.Ifyou wouldlikethemoisturetostaywithinonespecific

roomyoushouldconsiderclosingthedoorwhilethe unitisrunning.b. Wood,leather,carpet,curtains,andothertypesoffabric

wall,window,door,orthermalbridgesothatairmaycirculatearoundtheunit.

2055 FAQ’sQ.I fill the water tank, and when I place it back on

the unit all of the water goes into the base. Why is that?

A.Waterisneededinthebaseoftheunitfortheremovalofparticlesfromtheair,andforthehumidificationoftheair.Thefirsttimethetankisfilledupandplacedontheunit,allofthewaterwillgointothebaseoftheunit.Thewatertankactsasareserve,andmaybefilledupasecondtimetohaveextrawateravailable.

Q. If my unit runs dry is that ok?A.Ifthereisapossibilitythatyouwillbeunabletoadd

watertotheunitanditwillrundry,turntheunitoffbeforeyouleave.Theunitwillnotbeabletoremoveparticlesfromtheairifthereisnowater,andyoumaynoticeafoulodor.Exceptofthe2055Digitalthatusestheautomaticswitch­off.

Q.Can this unit be used all year round?A.Yes,theunitcanbeusedallyearround.Theunitpro­

ducesrelativehumiditywhichmeansthattheairwillonlytakeasmuchmoistureasitcanhold.Theunitwillnotover­humidifytheair.

Q.If there is no water left in my water tank, for how many hours will the water in base last?

A.Anexactanswercannotbegivenforthisastherearemanyfactorsthatdependonhowlongthewaterwilllastfor.Italldependsonthesizeoftheroom,ifitis

verydry,amongotherthingstoknowhowquicklywa­terwillevaporateintotheair.Ifyounoticethatthereisnowaterleftinthewatertank,itisalwaysagoodideatorefillthetanktohaveextrawateravailable.

Q. Is it ok to put my humidifying plates in the dishwasher? A.ThemanufacturerofthisappliancedoesNOTrecom­

mendit.Theplatescanonlybeplacedinadishwasherwherethetemperatureisnogreaterthan131°F/55ºC.

Ifthetemperatureisanyhotterthanthis,theplateswillmelt.PlacetheplatesinasinkfilledwithwarmwaterandwhitevinegarorEZCalandeitherletthemsoakorspintheplatesinthissolution.Or,addwhitevinegarorEZCaltothewaterinthebaseoftheunitandlettheunitrunforanhourtocleantheplates.

Itisgoodtohavecalciumdepositsbuiltupontheplatesasitwillcapturemoreparticlesfromtheairandaddmoremoisturetotheair.
