Os Dead Combo são Tó Trips e Pedro Gonçalves, músicos que encarnam duas personagens que poderiam ter saído de uma BD: um gato pingado e um gangster. Formado em 2003, o grupo já lançou 5 álbuns, três dos quais galardoados com Álbum do Ano e Álbum da Década em Portugal. “Lisboa Mulata” é o mais recente álbum da dupla, lançado em outubro de 2011, que conta com as participações especiais de Camané, Sérgio Godinho, da Royal Orquestra das Caveiras e do reconhecido guitarrista norte-americano Marc Ribot.
The musicians Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves incarnate two characters that could have come from a comic: a caretaker and a gangster. Formed in 2003, the band has already released 5 albums, of which 3 were awarded Album of the Year and Album of the Decade in Portugal. Their latest album ‘Lisboa Mulata’ was released in October 2011 and features Camané, Sérgio Godinho, Royal Orquestra das Caveiras and the North American renown guitar player Marc Ribot.

Conta a história de quatro amigos que se encontram uma noite para comemorar a festa do quinquagésimo aniversário de Quim Fonseca, isto quando Xavier Santos, António Sousa e Manuel Ribeiro já ultrapassaram a também fasquia dos 50. Há uma mão cheia de anos que estes amigos não se reúnem. António Sousa, o psicólogo, mudou-se temporariamente para o estrangeiro, fruto de uma paixão. Xavier Santos esteve detido injustamente. E Quim Fonseca (guionista) e Manuel Ribeiro (produtor de tv) chatearam-se. Durante a hora e meia de “Loucura dos 50” fazemos uma viagem cómica – mas ao mesmo tempo real – ao universo dos homens de 50 anos: os seus problemas, os seus desejos, os problemas para matar os desejos...e muita gabarolice, claro, que também faz parte.
This is the story of four friends who got together one night to celebrate Quim Fonseca’s 50th birthday; Xavier Santos, António Sousa and Manuel Ribeiro are now over 50. The friends had not met for quite some time. António Sousa, the psychologist, moved abroad temporarily as a result of being in love. Xavier Santos was unfairly detained. And Quim Fonseca (scriptwriter) and Manuel Ribeiro (TV producer) are not on speaking terms. ‘Loucura dos 50’ is a 90-minute comic – but at the same time real – journey through the world of 50 year-old males: their problems, desires, problems to repress desires...and of course, plenty of bragging, which comes with the territory.

Beth Sales (Elisabeth Lopes Johansen) nasceu em 1956. Vive na Noruega e pinta desde os 5 anos de idade. A técnica de pintura utilizada é o acrílico sobre papel e tela. As pinturas de Beth Sales refletem com espontaneidade a alegria e a vivência das cores do viver da pintura. As telas acrílicas já perscrutam sentimentos surrealistas, sensibilidades no âmago das coisas. A sua arte, com dinâmica, harmonia, muitas vezes premiada, faz-nos sentir na trajetória de uma estrada iluminada de luzes e cores, vitoriosa em todo o seu esplendor.
Beth Sales (Elisabeth Lopes Johansen) was born in 1956. She lives in Norway and has been painting since she was 5 years old. Acrylic on paper and canvas is the painting technique she employs. Beth Sales’s paintings reflect spontaneously the gaiety and liveliness of the colours which come with painting. On the other hand, the acrylic canvasses capture surrealist sentiments and sensitivities within the essence of things. Her dynamic, harmonious and award-winning art makes us feel like we are travelling through a luminous and colourful road, glorious in all its splendour.

O bailaor flamenco Oscar de los Reyes foi o vencedor do Prémio Nacional de Baile Flamenco por Alegrías em 2008. Ao longo da sua carreira já participou em alguns dos festivais mais relevantes de flamenco por todo o mundo como solista ou em colaborações com outros artistas de renome. Neste espetáculo, Oscar de los Reys convida a bailaora Luna Fabiola que é coreógrafa e professora de baile flamenco na Fundación Arte Flamenco de Sevilha.
The flamenco bailaor Oscar de los Reyes was awarded the Baile Flamenco por Alegrías National Award in 2008. Throughout his career he has participated in some of the most important flamenco festivals worldwide as a soloist or with other renown artists. For this show Oscar de los Reys invited the bailaora Luna Fabiola, a choreographer and flamenco instructor at the Fundación Arte Flamenco in Seville.

Nos dias 8 e 9 de novembro vai para a estrada mais uma edição do Rallye Casinos do Algarve. Com o título por atribuir, três pilotos chegam ao Algarve com vontade de alcançar o cetro e prometem emoção desde o primeiro até ao último troço. Mantendo a estrutura de um rali compacto, o rali estará sedeado no Hotel Algarve Casino, na Praia da Rocha em Portimão, embora a vertente competitiva seja nas estradas da serra de Monchique.
Another edition of Rallye Casinos do Algarve is back on the road on 8th and 9th November. Three pilots will be arriving in the Algarve eager to win the title and keep the race alive from the first to the very last course. The rally will be headquartered at the Hotel Algarve Casino, at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, although the competition will be taking place on the roads of serra de Monchique.

A prova transfronteiriça “X Milhas do Guadiana” irá ligar uma vez mais as cidades de Vila Real de Santo António e Ayamonte (Espanha), num percurso asfaltado de 17,3 quilómetros que tem como atração principal a travessia da Ponte Internacional sobre o rio Guadiana. O facto de esta prova atravessar, no seu percurso, uma ponte que une dois países, transforma-a na única do género. Além do seu caráter desportivo, a corrida está integrada no calendário de eventos da «Eurocidade do Guadiana» e tem como objetivo a promoção desportiva, turística e cultural das localidades transfronteiriças de Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim e Ayamonte.
The towns of Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte (Spain) will once again be linked by the cross-border race ‘X Milhas do Guadiana’ (‘Guadiana’s 10 miles’) in a 10-mile asphalt route crossing the International Bridge over the River Guadiana. What makes this race so unique is the fact that it crosses the bridge linking two countries. Besides being a sports event, the race is part of ‘Eurocidade do Guadiana’ and aims to promote local sports, tourism and culture in Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Ayamonte.

The Civil Parish of São Sebastião in Lagos is organising another edition of the Handicrafts Fair with various stalls selling sweets, liqueurs, as well as items made with fabric and wood, on 14th and 15th December.

O certame vai contar com expositores de artesanato, com artesãos originários maioritariamente da serra algarvia, que aqui estarão a trabalhar “ao vivo”, bem como produtores de agroalimentares. Esta mostra de produtos tradicionais constitui uma excelente oportunidade para os visitantes fazerem também as suas compras de Natal.
The event will feature handicraft stalls of artisans - mostly coming from the Algarvian serra - who will be working ‘live’, as well as agri-food producers. This showcase of traditional products is an excellent opportunity for some Christmas shopping.
