INSTRUÇÕES DE FUNCIONAMENTO

NOTA: Antes de utilizar a ferramenta, leia atentamente o manual de instruções.1. INSTRUÇÕES DE MONTAGEMAntes do uso, as proteções para os olhos/proteções contra faísca devem estar ajustadas ao esmeril.Remova ambas as proteções para os olhos da embalagem, posicione as sobre os dois suportes de montagem acima dos rebolos abrasivos. As proteçoes contra faísca devem estar na direção oposta a você. Prenda com o parafuso e arruela fornecidos. Neste estágio, não aperte totalmente. (Consulte a Fig. A)A próxima etapa é ajustar as proteções para os olhos/proteção contra faísca. Para fazer isso, mova as proteções para os olhos/proteção contra faísca para obter um intervalo o menor possível entre a proteção e o rebolo abrasivo, nunca maior que 2 mm; agora, o parafuso deve ser totalmente apertado. Consulte a Fig. B. O intervalo deve ser mantido à medida que o rebolo se desgastar.

2. AJUSTE DO SUPORTE PARA O TRABALHORetire o suporte para o trabalho da embalagem, fixe no esmeril com o pino e arruela fornecidos, conforme mostrado na Fig. C. O intervalo entre os suportes e os rebolos deve ser verificado antes do uso. Meça o intervalo entre o rebolo abrasivo e os suportes; ele deve ser o menor possível, nunca maior que 2 mm, se esse não for o caso, solte os pinos em cada suporte, defina o intervalo correto e aperte totalmente. Consulte a Fig. D. O intervalo deve ser mantido à medida que o rebolo se desgastar.

3. OPERAÇÃOCertifique-se de que o esmeril esteja montado de forma segura; furos de montagem na base do esmeril são fornecidos na base do esmeril para esse propósito, mas os parafusos não são fornecidos. Conecte à rede elétrica e empurre o interruptor de ligar-desligar para a direita para a posição ligado. Desligue e desconecte o esmeril da tomada quando não estiver em uso.

4. TROCANDO REBOLOS ABRASIVOS (Consulte A Fig. E)Para trocar os rebolos abrasivos, primeiro, desconecte da rede elétrica, em seguida, remova os suportes das proteções para os olhos, então, desrosqueie e remova os três parafusos que mantêm as coberturas de proteção do rebolo fixadas. Remova a cobertura. Remova as porcas de

retenção dos dois rebolos (a). Pode ser necessário segurar o rebolo e dar uma batida firma na chave de porca com um martelo de cabeça macia para soltar a porca. Retire a grande arruela (b), a arruela (c) e remova os rebolos (d).OBSERVAÇÃO: A porca do lado direito do esmeril tem uma rosca para a direita padrão (gire no sentido anti-horário para soltá-la). A porca do lado esquerdo tem uma rosca para a esquerda (gire no sentido horário para soltá-la).Substitua na mesma ordem, certificando-se de que ambas as arruelas estão na direção correta, verifique as arruelas c e e. Caso alguma arruela esteja danificada, substitua a mesma por uma nova. Segure o rebolo e aperte a porca firmemente, mas não acima do limite.OBSERVAÇÃO: Substitua os flanges ou parcas somente por itens originais; eles podem ser obtidos de um representante autorizado.

AVISO: APERTAR ALÉM DO LIMITE PODE TRINCAR UM REBOLO

ABRASIVO.

MANUTENÇÃORetire o cabo de alimentação da tomada antes de efetuar quaisquer ajuste, reparações ou manutenção.Se o cabo de alimentação estiver danificado, este deve ser substituído pelo fabricante, seu agente autorizado ou pessoal técnico qualificado para evitar qualquer situação de perigo.

RESOLUÇÃO DE PROBLEMASApesar de seu novo esmeril de bancada ser muito simples de operar, se você tiver problemas verifique o seguinte:

1. ESMERIL NÃO LIGAVerifique se há energia elétrica na tomada; faça um teste.; verifique as conexões do plugue; corrija e aperte conexões problemática; verifique o fusível; se suspeito, substitua por um com capacidade correta.

2. REBOLO TREPIDA OU VIBRAVerifique se a porca de trava está apertada. Verifique se o rebolo está posicionado corretamente no eixo e na arruela de posicionamento. Se pressão excessiva tiver sido usada ou se o rebolo ficou preso, ele pode estar danificado, o que causa sua vibração. Se houver qualquer evidência de que o rebolo está danificado, não o use, remova-o e substitua por um novo rebolo. Descarte os rebolos antigos de forma sensata.

3. REBOLO DEIXA ACABAMENTO BRUTOMuita pressão no rebolo pode resultar em um acabamento de superfície ruim. Se estiver trabalhando com alumínio ou liga macia semelhante, o rebolo ficará obstruído rapidamente e não realizará o esmerilhamento de forma efetiva.Não há nenhuma outra peça que possa ter manutenção realizada pelo usuário em seu esmeril de bancada.

DICAS ÚTEISSeu esmeril de bancada é útil para afiar acessórios, por exemplo, brocas, cinzéis; para afiar ferramentas e remover rebarbas das bordas; para remover material. Apesar de esta não ser uma ferramenta para trabalho pesado e ser projetada principalmente para uso leve doméstico e de hobby.Os dois tipos diferentes de rebolo permitirão que o esmeril atenda às suas várias necessidades. Geralmente, use o rebolo de granulação grossa para desbaste bruto, ou seja, para remoção de uma quantidade maior de material.Use o rebolo médio para acabamento para deixar uma superfície mais suave.Se o esmeril for usado em metais moles, como alumínio, o rebolo ficará obstruído rapidamente e precisará ser trocado.A todo momento, deixe o esmeril fazer o trabalho, não o force nem aplique pressão excessiva no rebolo.Tente usar o suporte da ferramenta para apoiar e guiar a peça a ser trabalhada. Não esmerilhe usando as faces laterais do rebolo abrasivo, pois pressão indevida na lateral do rebolo pode causar estilhaçamento ou quebra do mesmo.

BENCH GRINDER SAFETY WARNINGS1. Do not use damaged or misshapen grinding wheels or

brushes;2. Use only grinding wheels recommended by the

manufacturer which have a marked speed equal to or greater than the speed marked on the nameplate of the tool;

3. Adjust the spark arrestor frequently so as to compensate for wear of the wheel, keep the distance between the spark arrestor and the wheel as small as possible and in any case not greater than 2 mm;

4. The grinder must be secured to a suitable work surface before use

5. For bench grinders equipped with straight-sided flanges, the recommended values of the thickness T and the diameter of the hole see the technical data;

6. Always wear eye protection and check that the eye shields on the grinder are properly adjusted.

7. The adjustment of the spark arrestor shall be made frequently ,so as to compensate the wear of the wheel, keeping the distance between the guard and the wheel as small as possible, but in any case not greater than 2mm.

OPERATION INSTRUTIONS

NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully.1. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONSBefore use, the eye shields/spark arresters must be fitted to the grinder.Remove both eye shields from packaging, position the shields over the two mounting brackets above the grinding wheels with the flanges of the spark arrester facing away from you, fix with the screw and washer provided. At this stage do not fully tighten. (See Fig.A)The next step is to adjust the eye shields/spark arresters. To do this move the eye shields/spark arresters so as to obtain a gap as small as possible between the arrester and the grinder wheel, not greater than 2mm, the screw must now be fully tightened, See Fig.B. The gap must be maintained as the wheel wears.

2. WORK REST ADJUSTMENTTake the work rest out of the package, fix on the grinder with the knob and washer provided as shown in Fig.C. The gap between the rests and the wheels should be checked before use. Measure the gap between the grinding wheel and the rests; this should be as small as possible not greater than 2 mm, if not, loosen the knobs on each of the rests, set the correct gap and fully tighten, See Fig.D. The gap must be maintained as the wheel wears.

3. OPERATINGMake sure grinder is securely mounted; mounting holes are provided in the base of the grinder for this purpose, but the screws are not provided. Plug in the mains supply and push the on/off switch right to the on position. Switch off and unplug the grinder when not in use.

4. CHANGING GRINDING WHEELS (See Fig.E)To change the grinding wheels, first unplug from mains supply then remove the eye shield brackets, then undo and remove the three screws holding the wheel guard covers in place. Remove the cover. Undo and remove the two wheels retaining nuts (a). You may have to hold the wheel and give the spanner a firm tap with a soft headed hammer to release the nut, take off the large domed washer (b), paper washer (c) and remove the wheels (d).NOTE: The nut on the right side of the grinder has a standard right hand thread (turn counter-clockwise to loosen). The one on the left side has a left hand thread (turn clockwise to loosen).

Replace in same order, making sure both domed washers face correct direction, check the paper washer(c and e), if damaged replace with new paper washer. Hold the wheel and tighten the nut firmly but do not over-tighten.NOTE: only replace flanges with original items, these can be supplied through a authorized dealer.

WARNING: OVERTIGHTENING CAN CRACK A GRINDING WHEEL.

MAINTENANCERemove the plug from the socket before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance.If the supply cord is damaged, it shall be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

TROUBLESHOOTINGAlthough your new bench grinder is really very simple to operate, if you do experience problems, check the following:

1. GRINDER WILL NOT STARTCheck that there is “mains” at the socket; test with an electrical screwdriver or another electrical appliance; check the connections in the plug; correct and tighten poor connections; check the fuse; if suspect replace with correct rating.

2. WHEEL WOBBLES OR VIBRATESCheck that the lock-nut is tight. Check that the wheel is correctly located on the shaft and locating washer. If excessive pressure has been used or the wheel has “caught”, it may be damaged causing it to vibrate. If there is any evidence that the wheel is damaged, do not use, remove it and replace with a new wheel. Dispose of old wheels sensibly.

3. WHEEL LEAVES ROUGH FINISHToo much pressure on the wheel can cause a poor surface finish. If working with aluminium or similar soft alloy, the wheel will soon become clogged and will not grind effectively.There are no other users serviceable parts in your bench grinder.

HANDY HINTSYour bench grinder is useful for sharpening tools, e.g. drills, chisels; refacing tools, e.g. removing burrs from tool edges;

removing material, however this is not a heavy duty tool and is designed primarily for light home and hobby use.The two different types of wheel will allow the grinder to meet various needs. Typically, use the coarse grinding wheel for rough cutting, i.e. removing a larger amount of material.Use the medium wheel for finishing to leave a smoother surface.If the grinder is used on soft metals such as aluminium, the wheel will soon clog and will have to be changed.At all times, let the grinder do the work, do not force it or apply excessive pressure to the wheel/cutter.Try to use the tool rest for supporting and guiding the workpiece. Do not grind using the side cheeks of the grinding wheel as undue pressure on the side of the wheel could cause the wheel to shatter.
