Legend:
Read user manual
CAUTION! Danger of electric shock.
Our products have left the factory safety-related flawless condition.
To preserve this condition, the following safety instructions and type label, markings, safety
instructions on the sealer should be observed or else persons could be endangered or this
product itself or other equipment could be damaged.
These safety instructions are valid in Germany. In other countries other national rules must be
observed.
If these safety instructions are not sufficient, the manufacturer can be contacted under the
stated address.
Please check the package and claim damages immediately to the transport company.
Before using the sealer ensure that the sealer has no damages. In doubt ask electrical trained staff or contact us under the address below.
Before using the sealer please check if the voltage of the device comply with the current of your country. The fuse beside the power switch must be adapted to the
power supply. At 115V: T8A, at 230V: T4A. The sealer is supplied with a T4A fuse.
The sealer must only be connected with the supplied power cord to a grounded socket. It is not allowed to be connected to an IT power supply.
Put the device on a stable surface.
If the sealer is transported from a cold into a warm environement, it is possible that there will be some condensation. Wait until the temperature is equalised. There is
danger for life, if the device is put into operation when there is some
condensation!
Only authorised staff is allowed to exchange fuses and carrying out repairs. Please contact the address below.

ENG BEA EM30 R08.doc 31.08.2010 Seite 4
Before cleaning: cut the sealer from current! Clean the sealer only with a dry or slightly moistened smooth wipe. Lever let water come into the sealer.
Only use the sealer in dry rooms at ambient temperatures between 15 and 30°C. If the sealer is used under conditions out of this specification, functional errors could occur
or the sealer could be damaged. Let the sealer come to room temperature before taking
it into operation.
Only seal suitable packaging material. In doubt contact your dealer or the manufacturer of the sealer.
Never seal polyethylene pouches or similar. This will damage your sealer.
Never feed pointed or flat instruments into the in feed gap. This could damage the sealer or the instruments.
Never insert parts into the ventilation gaps of the sealer. You could be injured by an electric shock or the sealer could be damaged.
The printer head could be hot after operation. Allow the printer to cool down before opening the lid to change the printer ribbon.
Check electrical safety of the sealer at least every year.
Never use the sealer if there is any doubt if it is in a safe condition.
The user is responsible for a acceptable sealing result. Let the seam be checked frequently. Let the sealing process be validated.

Here you can define the set value of the sealing force between 0 and 100N.
The sealing force is adjusted by the factory and suitable for all kinds of material. It should
only be changed by trained service personnel.
If the sealing force or the set value is changed, it is possible that the sealer will not seal any
more, because the real sealing force and the set value deviate too much .
If set value is set to zero, the sealing force function is deactivated.
If the set value is changed, always the real value has to be changed as well.

7 Working with the sealer If a pass code is defined, the sealer will ask for it, if any operation is initiated and the pass
code time has not passed yet. If no pass code is defined, all operations are possible but not the
service functions.
7.1 Adjustment of the sealing edge
To adjust the distance from the seam to the edge of the pouch move the paper guide on the left
side of the sealer. Before that loosen the hand screw on the left side.
Fasten the screw afterwards.
Stellen Sie den Sieglerand nur so tief wie nötig ein.
Attention!
Please insert the packaging material flat, and not deeper than the paper guide. If packaging
material is fed in to0 deep or crinkled, paper jams could occur. If the distance from the seam
to the edge of the pouch is too small, it is difficult to open the pouch.
7.2 Sealing parameters
To get good sealing result, it is important to adjust the sealing parameters. The sealing
pressure and transport speed are already adjusted for most sealing pouches.
Only the temperature must be adjusted by the operator. Read the instructions of the producer
of the packaging material.
The following temperatures are for first orientation:
Clear View (Paper/ Multilayer) 170 - 185 °C
Clear View (Crepp/ Multilayer) 170 - 185 °C
Tyvek material 120 - 130 °C
Warning!
Do not use pouches made from Polyethylene or other unsuitable materials. This could damage
your sealer. In doubt, please ask the manufacturer of this sealing device.
Adjust the sealer so that on the one hand the seam keeps closed after sterilisation and on the
other hand fibre free peeling is possible.
(Se also chapter validation)
7.3 Sealing
Before you start sealing check if the temperature of the sealer is suitable for the material.
If not, adjust the sealing temperature.
If the sealer is in standby mode, press any key or feed in the package on the left side. Now it
will heat up and can start the transport belt if the temperature is reached.
If the sealer is ready to seal, feed in the material on the left side. A sensor detects the pouch
and starts the transportation belt. The pouch will slide through the machine. The pouch will be
sealed and a second sensor will count the sealed pouch. When the pouch leaves the machine it
will be sealed. This is indicates by three stripes over the entire pouch.
Take care of the norm regarding the maximum filling of the pouch. Feed in the pouch
carefully because otherwise there might be a bad seam.
-
ENG BEA EM30 R08.doc 31.08.2010 Seite 16
If a pouch stuck in the machine, press the transport inverse button, the material will be
transported to the left side.
7.4 Validation of the sealing process
To assure proper settings of the sealing parameters, the sealing process must be validated
and the strength of the seam must be tested.
We recommend annual service and revalidation. Please contact your dealer or the
manufacturer of the sealer.
Within a validation the parameters of the sealer will be checked with external instruments.
On top of that, a strength test will be carried out.
For frequent testing a seam can be set to the manufacturer/ dealer for carrying out a strength
test.

avoid injury.

Put in the new ribbon with the backside first. Then push it down carefully at the front side.
Be careful that the ribbon is not crinkled and the plastic cover is not damaged.
Check free movement of the ribbon, by turning the knob on the top of the ribbon cassette.
Close the lid again and switch on the machine again. Make a test print.
Only use original ribbons, because they were developed and tested for high temperatures so
that they do not bleed nor dry.
