Support the whole frequency band of PGSM900/EGSM900, high 45MHz frequency band andlow 45MHz frequency band of DCS1800MHz.

The BTS3900E can be deployed with the BSC in the star, chain, and ring networking modes

(the tree networking mode not supported). In the chain and ring networking modes, up tofive cascading levels are supported.

The DC BTS3900E module supports the two-level cascading power supply.

The AC BTS3900E module supports the report of the mains power-off alarm. When ACmodules of a site are combined, the alarm is generated only when the mains of the major

cabinet module is powered off.

If the frequency is limited, in the scenario that less than or equal to six TRXs are configured inthe cell and two modules are required, the BTS3900E is not recommended.

Frequency hopping capability

If the frequency set meets the restriction of 15 MHz, the baseband frequency hoppingand RF frequency hopping are supported.

For the O7–O12 model configured with two modules, if the transmit frequency setdoes not meet the restriction of 15 MHz, but meets the restriction of receive 25 MHz,you can configure the baseband frequency hopping and one frequency hoppinggroup.

If the frequency set does not meet the restriction of 15 MHz, but the RF frequencyhopping is required, you can configure two frequency hopping groups. Each groupcannot exceed the restriction of 15 MHz.

The BTS3900E has two types of functional modules: AC module and DC module, where theformer supports 110 and 220 V AC power inputs and the latter supports –48 V DC powerinput.

The BTS3900E AC(1) works as the basic module. It is connected to another twoextension BTS3900Es through the SFP ports to form a star topology.

When multiple BTS3900E DC modules are cascaded, if a lower-level BTS3900E is damagedand must be replaced, all the cascaded BTS3900Es must be powered off. In the AC powersupply scenario, the quantity of DC power cables from the power supply cabinet (such as theAPM) to the small BTSs can be reduced. In the DC power supply scenario, the DCDU and TMC

cabinet are not required.

When multiple BTS3900Es use independent power supplies, if any BTS3900E is damaged,you can power off the BTS3900E and then replace it with a new one without powering offthe other BTS3900Es. Therefore, the services of the other BTS3900Es are not affected. If themajor BTS3900E is damaged, the services of the lower-level BTS3900Es in the CPRI cascadingare affected, as in the DC power supply cascading scenario.

By default, the delivery solution uses cascading power supply. That is, multiple modules useonly one power cable.

The distance between modules: If the 4 mm^2 shielded power cable is used, the maximum

distance is 50 m.

This function solves the coverage and capacity problems that occur when the service trafficincreases slowly, but cannot solve the coverage and capacity problems that occur when theservice traffic suddenly surges. When the service traffic suddenly surges, you can use thechannel all-rate and half-rate conversion to solve the coverage and capacity problems.

After the capacity and coverage automatic optimization algorithm switch is enabled, if the

transmit powers of two TRXs are automatically configured to 20 W and 10 W respectively,the concentric function is not required.

If the configuration is changed from one TRX to two TRXs, the configuration of one TRXcannot be restored. The transmit powers of the two TRXs are automatically configured to 20W and 10 W respectively or 15 W and 15 W respectively based on the threshold value and

actual network conditions.
