ACOUSTIC SPECIFICATION FOR DUCT LAGGING TO CAR PARK EXTRACT FANS (10kg/m2 MASS BARRIER) The car park extract fans and any ductwork and/or plena between the fans and the associated attenuators shall be completely acoustically lagged with either of the following: Option A Ductwork shall first be lagged with 50mm mineral wool slab (minimum density 100kg/m3). Ductwork shall then be wrapped using a complex laminate composite with an internal mass barrier (minimum 10kg/m2) on a supporting glass-fibre carrier faced both sides with high tensile glass-fibre insulation. Option B Ductwork shall be wrapped using a complex laminate composite with an outer mass barrier (minimum 10kg/m2) on a supporting 45kg/m3 lamella rock fibre. The exposed face of the product is to be faced with Class O reinforced aluminium foil. The reverse side is to be faced with glass-fibre finish. The acoustic media shall not comprise materials which are generally composed of mineral fibres, either man made or naturally occurring, which have a diameter of 3 microns or less and a length of 200 microns or less or which contain any fibres not sealed or otherwise stabilised to ensure fibre migration is prevented.
