Manuel Portela, Professor do Departamento de Línguas, Literaturas e Culturas da

Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, onde dirige o Programa de

Doutoramento FCT em Materialidades da Literatura. É também investigador do

Centro de Literatura Portuguesa da Universidade de Coimbra. É autor do livro

Scripting Reading Motions: The Codex and the Computer as Self-Reflexive Machines (MIT

Press, 2013), editor geral do Arquivo LdoD: Arquivo Digital Colaborativo do Livro do

Desassossego (2017; https://ldod.uc.pt/), e um dos autores participantes em The

Bloomsbury Handbook of Electronic Literature (2017). Tem diversas publicações sobre

literatura digital e edição digital, incluindo artigos nas revistas Digital Humanities

Quarterly, Digital Scholarship in the Humanities, Leonardo Electronic Almanac, Electronic

Book Review, Textual Cultures e Variants. É cofundador e atual diretor da revista

MATLIT: Materialities of Literature (http://impactum-journals.uc.pt/matlit/index). Entre

as suas traduções literárias, contam-se obras de Laurence Sterne, William Blake, e

Samuel Beckett.

Manuel Portela, Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures

of the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Coimbra, where directs the

FCT PhD Program in Materialities of Literature. He is also a researcher at the Centre

for Portuguese Literature at the University of Coimbra (CLP). He is the author of

Scripting Reading Motions: The Codex and the Computer as Self-Reflexive Machines (MIT

Press, 2013), editor of the LdoD Archive: Collaborative Digital Archive of the Book of

Disquiet (2017; https://ldod.uc.pt/), and one of the contributors to The Bloomsbury

Handbook of Electronic Literature (2017). He has published widely on digital literature

and digital editing, including articles in Digital Humanities Quarterly, Digital Scholarship

in the Humanities, Leonardo Electronic Almanac, Electronic Book Review, Textual Cultures

and Variants. He is cofounder and current general editor of the journal MATLIT:

Materialities of Literature (http://impactum-journals.uc.pt/matlit/index). His literary

translations include works by Laurence Sterne, William Blake, and Samuel Beckett.
