PROGRAMA DE DESENVOLVIMENTO EDUCACIONAL – SEED
IES: Universidade Federal do Paraná
PROFESSOR ORIENTADOR: João Negrão
PROFESSORA PDE: Lorena Baroni Damaso
Nesse sentido
disciplinas. Expostos á literatura, os estudantes são
convocados a expressar opiniões, experimentar vivências
Segundo Paulo Venturelli (a
A escola tornou a leitura algo
fossilizado”(2002,p.151).
áreas do saber.
desenvolvimento do projeto. A apresentação dos mini projetos, no entanto, acontecerá
no segundo semestre.

THE SHORT STORIES BY
EDGAR ALLAN POE
4.1-Short story: What is this?
Read the following paragraph:
Short story is a literary genre that is shorter than novels (7,500 words or less). They
are usually less complex than novels: only one incident, a single plot, a small number
of characters and the story covers a short period of time. Do you know how we say short story in Portuguese?

You are going to read different short stories written by Edgar Allan Poe.
J0396058

TELL YOUR FRIENDS THE PLOT OF THE SHORT STORY YOU READ. HOW DID
YOU LIKE IT?

would you classify the story? How do you fell about the narrator and main
character?

UNIT 5
THE NOVEL AND THE MOVIE:
A SUCCESSFUL
MARRIAGE?!
J0422653
J0426568
There are endless movies done from novels. Some adaptations are better
than others, it depends on the way the novel is read by the movie maker. Read
the joke and comment with your friends. Have you read any book and seen a
movie done from it? Which did you like most: the book or the movie?
Goats eat everything. So, a goat had just
finished eating a tape when a second one
asked: “Did you like the tape?” “No”, said
the first, “I preferred the book!”
The class now has to choose one of these three books:
The Narnia Chronicles
The Lord of the Rings
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Let´s read the chosen book and then watch the film. Let´s do it in parts,
but first the reading. After each “movie session” you have to give your opinion
about the movie compared to the book.
J0424146
Task
At the final of the reading, write a paragraph talking
about the experience of reading a book and watching
a movie based on it at the same time. Which did you
prefer: the book or the Movie? Why?
