AI-AI DELAS ALAS, CONFIDENT NA BLOCKBUSTER PA RIN ANG MMFF ENTRY
PERRY LANSIGANS PPL Entertainment, Inc. opted for
the first day of December in holding its traditional
party for the press, this time at a much bigger venue
with much bigger prizes up for grabs.
Sinimulan ang naturang event with a trivia game
hawak ni Perry, although it seemed quite
embarrassing for his artists that a few reporter-contestants hardly knew the answers to the questions.
Sinundan ito ng larong The Boat is Sinking, capped by
the favourite Pinoy Henyo. Ika nga, nagsilbing warm-
up lang ang mga games na yon that segued to the
much-awaited raffle of instant cash ranging from
P3,000 to P15,000 plus a grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to Hong Kong for two na napanalunan
ni Nitz Miralles.
Hindi roon nagtapos ang pagsabog ng biyaya ng PPL for the working press, Dingdong Dantes gave an
additional P30,000, split into three lucky winners.
luhaan. A standard token went with every loot bag heavy enough for a thoughtful Christmas
package.

SPEAKING OF PPLs loot bag, may nakakalokang kuwento tungkol dito. Just as the PPL press party
was getting more exciting, ginaganap naman ang birthday bash ng kaibigang Ernie Enrile sa Music
Box. It was the next stop of a few reporters na umuwing luhaan (hindi naman kasi sila invited) sa PPL
event, but left the venue with freebies.
hamon. Dahil nga walang nahita ang isang showbiz fotog ay ibinebenta niya yon for a price equivalent
to a ham, only to discover na mga de lata pala yon.
Still another reporter was selling a table top (lalagyan ng mga pen at kung anu-anong mga office
abubot) na mula rin sa loot bag. Naibenta niya yon sa halagang P200, when it looks less than half the
price when purchased from a bookstore.
CONFIDENT SI AI-AI de las Alas na magiging consistent runaway blockbuster movie ang huling aklat
(huling aklat daw, o!) ng kanyang Tanging Ina, Star Cinemas entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival
this year.
Kung matatandaan, its first part shown many years ago broke even the highest records of an action
that Ai-Ais forte was not just her natural comedy, kundi ang magdrama rin.
In the story, Ai Ai plays an all-around mom to her kids, trying to live their generation para
pagiging real-life mom ni Ai-Ai, who does single parenting to children Sancho, Nicolo and Sophia, and
does it so well.
In recognition of her efforts, sinusuklian ng mga bagets na ito ang magandang pagpapalaki sa kanila
ni Ai Ai who, despite her luka-lukahan episodes in life one after another, still earns the respect of her
children. With or without this Wenn Deramas movie, Ai-Ai is the epitome of a tanging ina na
mamumura mo sa sobrang galing bilang nanay!
BAGO SINIMULAN NG TV5 ang kanilang press party held at the Broadway Centrum last Thursday,
Rey Espinosa. Tandang-tanda
raw kasi nila na noong nagbagong-bihis ang Singko, now more popularly known as Kapatid Network,
pinagtatawanan sila ng mga major players in the TV industry.
Convergence through innovation ang kanilang slogan, with a time frame of two years before aligning
itself with the industrys heavyweights.

Ani Atty. Espinosa, totoo yon: they were business tyros
who never knew the ropes of the trade.
But their perseverance paid off.
a threat to the rival stations weekend programming, eating up a large slice of the pie.
While the positive signs are felt, its a fact that nothing remains constant in this dynamic, fast-paced,
highly competitive world of TV. Ika nga, weather-weather lang yan. For TV5, its tenacity to take on
greater challenges is by no means a laughing matter.
