1. Abstract

This manual helps you to create a customized SCADA drawing for a new installation primarily in the case

when final controller configuration files do not exist but it can also help you if final controller configurationfiles exist. The manual describes steps needs to do when site definition is missing (a site for this installationis not created).

2. List of con trol lers

SCADA tool can be used for all controllers which are supported in InteliMonitor.Supported are all controllers from following families: InteliATS

NT, InteliLite

NT, InteliCompact

NT,

MainsCompactNT

, InteliGenNT

, InteliSysNT

, InteliMainsNT

.

3. List of tools

It is necessary to install InteliMonitor PC software and default controller archives running on Windows2000/XP/Vista/7/8. InteliMonitor is free of charge and can be downloaded from ComAp WEB site:http://www.comap.cz/products/detail/intelimonitor/. InteliMonitor is also included in InteliGen

NT, InteliSys

NT

xxx Installation Suite.exe file together with other PC tools.

If you have no archives already stored on a disk, download proper archives from www.comap.cz. Thearchives are included in installation packages relating to a specific group of controllers together with othersoftware (like InteliLite

NT xxx Installation Suite.exe, InteliGen

NT and InteliSys

NT xxx Installation Suite.exe

etc.) or they are included in separate „upgrade“ packages (like .igc (usually zipped), .iwe, .idc.....).

4. Detai led descrip t ion of solut io n

This section describes how to create personalized SCADA when a site definition is missing.

SCADA definition files are stored in separate folder for each site. The folders are created automaticallybased on a customer definition. Use InteliMonitor to create the site structure on the disk.

4.1 How to prepare disk structure on your laptop/PC.

In InteliMonitor, click on icon to open Open connection window.

In a new window, select Connect to selected site option.

When the new site is selected, click on Site properties button  to open the window with additionalsettings for the selected site. In the window tick Disable automatic rendering of single line diagram.Other options are important only when automatic SCADA rendering is used.

Click on OK

Click on button to close Open connection window. In this moment you do not need to specifycontrollers and connection type.

The new subfolder My site in Sites folder is created.

There are several scenarios which can occur:

1. You have no controller configuration file prepared but you want to create SCADA.

Go to section 4.22. You have a controller configuration file ready but no physical controllers available to upload it tocontrollers.Go to section 4.3

3. You have a complete controller installation ready and you can connect to controllers.Go to section 4.4

4.2 Creating SCADA without controller configuration

This section describes how to create SCADA with default controller configuration files (archives). Defaultarchives are the part of ComAp installation package.

If no controller or a final archive is available and a user wants to create SCADA part, it is necessary to usedefault archives installed with PC software.

Use proper default archive located in ...\ComAp PC Suite\GenConfig\Archives\Default\ folder.Proper archive depends on your controller type (IG/IS type, BB/GC version...) and application (MINT,SPtM, COX....). For example if you want to create SCADA for your InteliGen

NT GC controller with MINT

configuration, select the archive InteliGen GC MINT-xxx.ant. The full path is described at the end of thisdocument.

How to create SCADA in this case, go to section 5.5.

4.3 Creating SCADA with user defined controller configuration file

This section describes how to create SCADA with user defined controller configuration files (archives).

In this case you have ready a final configuration with all PLC functions, module configurations (additionalanalog/binary inputs), protections (new setpoints) etc.

Continue with section 5.5. and as an archive in following text use your final archive.

4.4 Creating SCADA ONLINE

This section describes the situation when a controller has a final configuration uploaded and it is ready forcommunication.

If you have already prepared the archive, controllers powered up and connected together via CAN2, it ispossible to download the configuration to the PC.

Click on Open connection in InteliMonitor and then on icon in Controllers section to add controller(s).

It is possible change a controller name – there is no relation between the controller name stored in thecontroller and the controller name in the site definition. This name is also used as the folder name on alocal disk. Use for example names Gen1, Gen2 etc. Specify all communication parameters based on your

type of communication. Click on button to connect to all controllers. Wait until theconfiguration download is finished.

Click on Connection, Save all as.... to store the configurations from all controllers. Use Default.ast as thefile name.

Close connection by button.

As an archive in following text use the proper archive for the configuration. The archive for Gen1 is stored

in the folder ...\Sites\My Site\Gen1 for example.

4.5 How to create SCADA off-line

Sections above described various situations how to get archives with a full or a partial controllerconfiguration. You will use these archives to create SCADA.

Note: All configuration and parameters (like setpoints, values, PLC definition, protections, translations, screendefinitions...) are stored in an archive. So each archive is unique. A unique identifier (a communicationobject number) is also assigned to each parameter, value etc in the controller. Most of setpoints and valueshave the same communication object number in different archives (in different applications). It is reasonwhy it is important to select a proper archive to assign a proper communication object number. In an archive there are some communications objects defined as fixed and cannot be changed based on auser configuration (for example most of default setpoints, values etc). Based on user configurationchanges, some setpoints and values could be added to configuration (like PLC Setpoints, PLC values, protection setpoints, binary/analog inputs when extension module(s) is used etc). It is reason why it isbetter to have the final configuration available before SCADA creation.

Start InteliMonitor (if not already started). Select Tools item and then Line Diagram Editor .

New program - Line Diagram Editor - appears on screen.

As default, empty sheet is opened and ready for a new SCADA diagram. If sheet is not empty, you can editit or delete everything.

First of all, define the size of SCADA window (canvas). Select Master grid and define its size in ObjectInspector  section. If you plan to use SCADA in the full screen mode (only SCADA is visible on the screen

without any other bars, Windows status bar etc.), use the same values as physical resolution of your final

display. If the bigger SCADA screen is created, in full screen mode there is no option how to move SCADAscreen to display hidden part. There are no scroll bars.

Now place all objects onto master grid as needed. Three types of objects are available - “static”, “dynamic”and “special”.

“Static” object is always displayed; it has no parameter to change its appearance. It is for example Line,Text, Image.... These objects do not have Comm. Obj. for Value parameter in Object Inspector  section.

“Dynamic” object has parameter to change its appearance. It is for example Busbar (it is possible tochange a color of a line depending on binary value) or kWValueMeter  (it indicates an analogue valuedefined by the communication object).

“Special” objects are objects without Comm. Obj. for Value parameter but with additional “special”settings. It is for example Login button or Link button.

In the upper Menu bar select a proper tab and click on an object.

Place the mouse to master grid and click again. Object is placed to the master grid. When the object is selected, you can change parameters of this object. The number and types ofparameters depends on a type of the object. Some parameter values are accessible directly, some others

are accessible through button. This button is used to select a color, an image file, a communicationobject etc.

Because Line Diagram Editor is off-line tool, it is not possible to choose binary or analog value as a sourcefor an object directly from the controller but only from the previously stored archive. Click on button. Youcan be asked to select this archive (if not selected before).

SAFJ - 11 -

Select the communication object when the proper archive is opened. Next window offers you the completelist of communication objects (setpoints, values).

You are asked for the proper archive only for first time. To change this archive, click on Archive button on

the bottom toolbar to select another one.

When it is confirmed, the communication object number is put into property box.

It is also possible to insert this communication object number directly but it is not so comfortable and easy. You have to know the proper communication object number. Use this option only in special situations.

From description above is clear, that a user can place any type of an object to the SCADA which isavailable for controller but proper definition (like communication object) can be done only for these objects, which exist in the selected archive. For example to indicate some binary value by LED in future PLC logic, you can place this LED to SCADA but proper communication object must be set later after configurationfinish. Do not forget to finish/update SCADA definition when the controller configuration is final.

When SCADA screen is created, save it.

Use the folder with the site name created before as the location (in our example ....\Sites\My site) andselect the proper name. One of SCADA definition names must be Default.cwd. The reason is, that whenInteliMonitor connects to the selected site (to controllers inside the site definition), the system is looking forDefault.cwd file to use it for SCADA. If this file is not found, blank screen is displayed. Usually top or mainscreen is stored as Default.cwd.

SAFJ - 13 -

It is possible to create more SCADA definition files (screens) for one site. The name for these additionalfiles is a user selectable. The files have to be stored in the same folder as Default.cwd, it means in the

root of the selected site folder.

To change a definition file in running SCADA (it means display different screen of SCADA) use Link to

another diagram button in Line Diagram Editor. You need to place this object to SCADA screenduring the configuration.
