Dear Parent/Guardian CIRCULAR 10/2013VIA THE HEADMASTERS OFFICE

    THE ARTIST AT THE ORGAN

Let your lives....... be controlled by the Spirit of God, then you will not succumb

to the desires of your sinful nature.

In The Senior Teacherit was told that the composer Mendelsohn once visited a

cathedral because he had heard that one of Europes most precious organs was housed

there. For a while he stood and listened to the aged organist playing the organ in

preparation for the Sunday service. When the organist had finished playing the piece,

Mendelsohn went to him and asked if he could play on the organ. I dont know you and

we dont allow just any one to play on this organ, the old man replied. Eventually

Mendelsohn managed to convince the old man to allow him to play the organ.

Mendelsohn began to play end the cathedral was filled with music the like of which the

old man had never heard before. Deeply touched he laid his hand on Mendelsohns

shoulder and asked in an emotional voice:Who are you? Mendelsohn, the composer

    replied.

The old man said:To think I was so foolish to refuse to let Mendelsohn play on my

    organ!

The person and the hands that played the organ determined the music that came out

    of those great organ pipes.

People have wonderful lives, with wonderful characteristics because God created them

according to his image. Just like the old organist we can also refuse to let him get the

best music out of us. If we give all the notes in our lives to the Holy Spirit, then the

music that praises God, makes it pleasant for our friends and lets peace live in our

hearts will be brought forth in our lives.

    Kind regards.

MATHEMATICSAll grade 8 and grade 9 top five Mathematics learners as well as the top five learners of grades 10 and 11

Mathematical Literacy were automatically enrolled in the Global Mathematics Olympiads. These Olympiads will be

written on 21 and 28 August. There is a great concern regarding the attendance of extra Mathematics classes.

Learners that do not achieve 40% or higher must attend these classes. If you could not attend the parent teachers

meeting, please contact your childs teacher and make an arrangement. It is very important since learners who fail

Mathematics in grade 9 will fail their grade at the end of the year.

    Grade 10

I would like to thank all our parents that helped

us during the inter. Please remember to pay

the monthly R20. There are some learners who

    have not paid anything.
