Sobre Paul Wright

O artista plástico britânico Paul Wright é um dos expoentes da arte contemporânea em retratos no Reino Unido, com destaque para sua participação como finalista no prestigiado BP Portrait Award 2014, realizado anualmente no National Portrait Gallery de Londres.

A sensibilidade de Paul unida a sua técnica de pinceladas marcantes e paletas fortes capturam a vitalidade e a personalidade do que ele vê. Paul oferece uma ambiguidade psicológica aos personagens retratados. A serenidade dos rostos pintados muitas vezes entram em contradição com seus respectivos olhares melancólicos e inquietos, no entanto a ambiguidade não nos permite tirar uma conclusão final sobre o estado psicológico do personagem retratado.

As pinturas de Paul Wright fazem parte de prestigiadas coleções privadas, como Prudential, Standard Chartered Bank, Accenture, Leicestershire Health Authority, P&O, Rutland County e Texas State University.Os trabalhos de Paul na exposição British Explorers nos dá licença especial para olharmos para o universo de pes-soas e lugares desconhecidos.
