Aula 18 - Talking about things we did
Outros tipos de MARCADORES: completam respostas para [COMO]
As características e a maneira como fazemos as coisas, ou seja, as palavras ou informações que res-pondem à perguntas HOW (what/who) e HOW (do what), também têm MARCADORES.
Estes MARCADORES são em muito menor número, e normalmente são de intensidade. Exemplo:Very beautiful muito bonito – The sunset is very beautiful today. O pôr-do-sol está muito bonito
hoje.Too hot quente demais. This coffee is too hot. Este café está quente demais. Veja a tradução desses MARCADORES abaixo:
INGLÊS PORTUGUÊS Exemplo com tradução
A bit Um pouco A bit dizzy um pouco tonto
A little Um pouco A little strange um pouco estranho
Almost Quase Almost ready quase pronto
Pretty Muito Pretty good muito bom
Quite Bastante Quite interesting bastante interessante
Rather Um tanto Rather simple um tanto simples
So Tão So beautiful tão bonito
Too Demais Too expensive caro demais
Very Muito Very easy muito fácil
CUIDADO! Very é MARCADOR DE HOW; much e many são MARCADORES de WHAT, mas em português todos são expressos com “muito”!!
Olhe os exemplos e suas traduções:Very interesting muito interessante – a very interesting story uma história muito interessanteMany very interesting stories muitas histórias muito interessantesNot much sugar in my coffee Não muito açúcar no meu café
E a expressão very much é assim traduzida por “muito”, simplesmente. Do you like to sing? Você gosta de cantar?Yes, very much. Sim, muito.
01. Sublinhe nas frases abaixo as palavras que funcionam como MARCADORES de [HOW] / [COMO], tanto na frase em inglês quanto na tradução em português. Siga o exemplo:
a) I’m too tired to go with you, but my brother here wants to go. He is almost ready. Eu estou cansado demais para ir com você, mas meu irmão aqui quer ir. Ele está quase pronto.
b) Every day I get up pretty early an d go to bed very late. Todos os dias eu levanto bastante
cedo e vou para a cama muito tarde.c) Please give me another bottle: Mine is almost empty. Por favor, me dê outra garrafa: A
minha está quase vazia.
