We propose...
• 1. To eliminate the human corrections (Musician) in the Production of Sound
• 2. To analise a bigger number of independent variables (factors)
• 3. To use a Factorial Design of Experiments
10o Simpósio Brasileiro de Computação Musical 3 a 6 de Outubro de 2005
Factors (Independent Variables)• VOLUME OF THE BOX (F1)• HARDNESS OF THE REED (F2)• POSITION IN THE REED (F3)• OPENING OF THE MOUTHPIECE (F4)• CONTACT AREA OF THE REED (F5)• QUANTITY OF MATERIAL (F6)

RESULTS:1. The contact area was the most important factor for the intensity andfrequency of the sound;2. To increase the volume reduce the intensity of the fundamental and the8th harmonic but increase the intensity ofthe 5th, 6th, 10th and 12th harmonics;3. To increase the contact area diminishthe frequency of the harmonics;4. To increase the hardness of the reedincrease the frequency of the harmonics.
