Sendo o cliente um casal de reformados, com grande interesse em design e com uma filha com limitações físicas, a Ström Architects optou por uma habitação de um só piso. Eliminando o bungalow preexistente e desafiando o terreno arborizado e inclinado, surge a The Quest, em Swanage, no Reino Unido, um exemplo perfeito e elegante de arquitetura e design minimalistas. No interior, uma grande cozinha, uma sala de es-tar e jantar e um enorme terraço coberto ocupam o centro do plano. No extremo oriental da casa ficam as acomodações. Na The Quest, a simplici-dade e a qualidade dos materiais estão na base da harmonia do projeto.

MINIMALISMO E ELEGÂNCIA

With a highly design-conscious retired couple, who have a physically disabled daughter, as its client, Ström Architects opted for a single-story residence. Removing the existing bungalow and challenging the sloped, wooded land, The Quest, in Swanage, in the UK, provides a perfect and elegant example of minimalist architecture and design. Inside, a large kitchen, a living and dining room and a huge covered terrace take up the central section of the plan. The accommodation lies at the far east of the house. In The Quest, simplicity and quality materials provide the base for the project’s harmony.
