Letter of Recommendation
To whom it may concern:
I am happy to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Diogo Calado. ln this letter, I
would like to express my respect and appreciation for this bright young person, whobrought outstanding contribution to the work of my group. Since 2012, it has been a pleas-ure to be Diogo's mentor in various clinica! and research projects at the neurology De-partment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medi-cine.
From our collaboration, I can conclude that Diogo has a strong motivation for clinicalwork and scientific research. He is an extremely focused and determined person at hisown work and is always available to help his colleagues finding solutions for problems withtheir own research. He is very meticulous and rigorous, contributing to improve the qualityof clinical and research work at the hospital, gathering critical and accurate information re-garding the patients' clinical cases, such as medical history and prescription. His dedica-tion and capacity to accept responsibility, as well as his compassion and ability to relate topatients, confirm his skill as a physician. He is a very diligent student, whb puts a Iot of ef-fort into his work, spending weekends working, analysing clinica! data from the patients, improving his knowledge of both western and Chinese medicine and reviewing papersfrom colleagues (both in English and Chinese language). I see Diogo as being an individ-ual at the forefront of medicine, always ready to embrace a new challenge, with a verypositive attitude.
Diogo has, in a very short period, become engaged into the Chinese society, whichallowed him to better understand Chinese culture. His personality and cordiality have beenessential to promote a very good relationship with al! the members of my team, getting in-volved not only in group work, but also in several social events, making him a valuable el-ement inside the group.
Being myself a researcher of lntegrative Medicine for almost 40 years and havingworked in several different countries in the past, I strongly believe Mr. Diogo Calado canhave a very important role establishing a bridge between both medicines at a hospitat set-ting in Portugal.
