    1 Hardware Editor

Open the Hardware editor of that resource to which you like to add a Remote I/O (RIO).

Drag selected RIO type to the HW-Editor.

Check the communication parameters for the “Config-Server” settings:

    Minimum values for the parameters:

    Timeout: 20.000ms

Resend Time: 5.000ms Alive Interval: 2.500ms

    Note:

The “Config-Server” is responsible for configuration, transmitting diagnose/status informationand also for commands. These tasks are actually not time critical. The recommended settings ensure well working

communication even in huge systems with a big number of RIO’s.

Basic function:The “Config-Server” on the CPU module addresses all RIO periodically (if no other config-

data telegrams are active) in a time interval according the “Alive Interval”.If there is no valid reaction coming from the RIO a resend happens after the “Resend Time”Reaction from the RIO is expected within “Timeout”

Minimum moni tor the Temperature state

Open the detail-view of CPU (Double-click) and enter the IP Address:

     Assign variables to hardware:

Double-click to a module in the RIO and drag the variables into the table.

    2 Safeethernet settings

In safeethernet Editor automatically appears a new link to the RIO.

3 RIO Time synchronization over SNTP

The RIO is synchronized over SNTP.In case the parent resource is a HIMax or HIMatrix 03 (enhanced performance), a SNTPServer must be created. In case the parent resource is a HIMatrix (standard), it only must be created if in this resource

is also a SNTP client defined.

Create a new Protocol, SNTP Server

    Fig. 3.1: Creating SNTP Server

Set the properties of the SNTP Server.

Select the module where the RIO is physically connected to.

Fig. 3.2: Assigning a COM or CPU-module to the protocol

For HIMax/HIMatr ix time synchronization over SNTP from PC please see the manual:

    “ SILworX-SNTP”

Start the code generator of the resource. Do this two times, compare the two results.

And if the CRC values of both runs are equal you can load the resource configuration into theresource.

    4 Start-up of the RIO

Establish a direct connection between RIO and PC.

Do a right mouse click on the element Hardware in the resource structure and select the

    function Online.

    Fig. 4.1: Hardware -> Online

Click on the button ->to Module Login.

    Fig. 4.2: Module login

Make a right mouse click on the CPU of the RIO and click on the function Detail View in theCPU context menu.

Now you get to the Module Login dialog. You do not really want to login, but you need this dialog to change the communicationsettings.

For this you click on Search.

TIP Move the now opened window a bit to the side, so that you can see the originaldata from the project.

Type in the new window the Mac-Address and click again on Search and then on Change.

    Fig. 4.4: Search via Mac

Change the entries for IP-Address, System ID and Rack ID according to the project data.

Click in the field User group and activate with CTRL+A the administrator with administrator

    access.Click on Write.

For a short time the following window appears.

    Fig. 4.6: Changing message window

Click again on Search to check if the data were really set.

Now you can click here Cancel, to get back to the original Login dialog. Don’t click  Apply.

Activate the Administrator with Administrator access and click on Login.

    Fig. 4.8: Login dialog

If you are able to login with the project data, the settings were done correct. You can now close the Control Panel of the RIO and connect the RIO with an Ethernet cable

to the parent resource. After a wile the PROG LED will be activated very shortly and then the RIO will be set in thesame state like the parent resource.
